Have you done soil test on your site ? Any recommendation on Soil test Service agencies ? The soil test has been done on our block, our builder took care of all this once we had paid our deposit. I have had a read through our report but it was not of much use to me (as I am no engineer In the end the builders engineer uses this report to determine how much work is required to prepare for and lay the slab for your home. Each builder approaches this a little differently but to get an idea, you can always approach some of the builders in the area (by visiting display homes) and asking the sales consultants for some estimates for your block. Just be aware that this will only be a guide until the soil report is actually done. I hope this helps and doesn't just confuse matters more Re: SOIL Test - Laurimar Briars 7Aug 18, 2010 1:45 pm Hi Shilda, I am building in the Briars - flat block on engineered fill (make sure you get a copy of the compaction report), our builder included H class slab as standard so with the compaction report we didn't pay anything extra otherwise due to fill it is a P class and some builders will charge alot.
