Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Is anyone building Eden at Skye - Stage 4 301Jul 19, 2011 10:02 am we went to the house yesterday theres a few things we are really not happy with, like all our kitchen cupboards the one under the island bench look so bad, it looks like they are dusty as there patchy an then when you wipe them nothing comes of. Also the top cupboards have scuff marks on them an look terrible. Also in the bathroom one of the corner's the paint is peeling very poor finish i think. I emailed out site guy, then never heard from so i called him and he said he will wb an that was last week ... still nothing. Verrrrryyy furstrating, but on the plus side the drive way has been done lol Re: Is anyone building Eden at Skye - Stage 4 304Jul 19, 2011 11:40 am oh really ?? nah ours is trying for around the 24th of August so we are happy with that! just sorting around things we wanna do after hand over like we are changing a couple of doors, drive way. ordering all the decking material. cant wait to start landscaping!! We are also going to do a border of some sort as we don't have a path on our side oh and we will probably get one of those concrete letter boxes a bit more stable, and they have one in chocolate i didn't mind Re: Is anyone building Eden at Skye - Stage 4 310Jul 25, 2011 7:32 pm i know went down saturday and we have doors, a bath and shower bases - house warming party will be next weekend if this keeps up! can't wait to hear how it goes natti - good luck!!!!!!!! Re: Is anyone building Eden at Skye - Stage 4 311Jul 26, 2011 4:11 pm Yay Natti how did it go??? We are getting not much help from our SS first he said we cant have any people in to do a quote cause they are never on time so he gets kept waiting and he wont give us an estimate time neither... We had a call from tru energy who have apparently been trying to get a hold of me to organise the connection of gas and electricity cause we are nearing settlement but yeah no real estimate! Whether he knows and is holding us out a bit... grrrr [size=85]Land Settled: 4th March Site Cut: 29th March Screw Piles: 5th April Plumbing start: 6th April Plumbing Completed: 7th April Slab boxed: 11th April Slab poured: 15th April Frame start: 19th April Re: Is anyone building Eden at Skye - Stage 4 312Jul 27, 2011 11:39 am so he called us a couple hours before to cancel an we both took time of work an organised our inspector, he reckons when he went to the house it still had paint an stuff to be fixed but its just frustrating cause he should have looked into it before he organised a date. So now we are going next Tuesday. Re: Is anyone building Eden at Skye - Stage 4 313Jul 27, 2011 6:53 pm that sux! surley they have walked thru before now???? Re: Is anyone building Eden at Skye - Stage 4 314Aug 03, 2011 2:22 pm SO has anyone moved in yet? I see the house next you Natti are in and another down the court! Hopefully your in too in the next few days!! Still awaiting SS call we really are not a fan with him but its almost over!!! Our fence has gone, driveway done and all the blue dots are up awaiting paint touchup and fit offs are completed and he STILL hasnt given us a date!!!!! not that we had heard from him in 10 days either..grrrr [size=85]Land Settled: 4th March Site Cut: 29th March Screw Piles: 5th April Plumbing start: 6th April Plumbing Completed: 7th April Slab boxed: 11th April Slab poured: 15th April Frame start: 19th April Re: Is anyone building Eden at Skye - Stage 4 315Aug 03, 2011 3:53 pm still not in yet , went to the house yesterday for our walk thru an still abit that needs fixing that was meant to have been done before our walk thru. He is planning on having it all fixed by next Friday an then we meet him there for hand over, but thats if he has fixed it all (they said even if u sign Friday we will come back an fix things after) but with the lack of things being done now id rather just hold of till we are happy with the house. Its so weird to think this time last year our land was dirt an now there is houses everywhere... i hope ur SS Calls you, it can be so frustrating Re: Is anyone building Eden at Skye - Stage 4 316Aug 04, 2011 1:58 pm Dear me what is it that you need fixing if you don't mind me asking? The only thing we noticed is our joins in the back of the bench ate really noticeable have you received your final invoice yet? Also the inspector picked up that the porch ceiling is really uneven an looks slanted, hopefully its all fixed by Friday Blazingbug - That is awesome news, we will see u all very soon Re: Is anyone building Eden at Skye - Stage 4 319Aug 05, 2011 8:21 am Well I was at the house yesterday just checking out our painter had been to finish touching up and I can say the cabinet guy was making his way through some houses in the court, not sure if he is the one who will fix them? How long after finishing do they send the invoice before handover? And have you guys got your certificate of occupancy yet?
