Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Is anyone building Eden at Skye - Stage 4 281Jul 08, 2011 1:08 pm hi girls, i am so confused with this fencing as i am getting told different things maybe you guys can help I was told by someone to we need exposed posts an caps and also the fencing guy that you gave us Melissa also said you have to have it. However i looked in the contract an I can’t see it says it anywhere expect for corner blocks. Helppppppppp lol an if it is standard what’s everyone considering i spoose i would go with the cheaper as no one can see it anyone. (We tried calling the lands conveyance but all she kept saying was look in your contract so much help... ) Re: Is anyone building Eden at Skye - Stage 4 282Jul 08, 2011 6:38 pm ok so we have roof tile on site:) i'm with you gus - just need a couple of days with no rain!!!! Re: Is anyone building Eden at Skye - Stage 4 283Jul 08, 2011 6:44 pm our contract says im back with the caps thingy - my hubby is dealing with it, but i think we will just go the cheapest - reading contract now - says fences must be 1.8 mabove natural ground level of lotand must finish min 1m behind priomary street frontage. must be constructed timber palings - and then there is a pretty picture to go with it apparently there is also a Eden at Skye timber fencing details detail some where??? Re: Is anyone building Eden at Skye - Stage 4 284Jul 08, 2011 8:27 pm Hi girls did you get copies of your developers approvals? This is where they have indicated that we need 1.8m fence capped? So exciting our SS said our carpets getting done next weeks sooo close!! We are heading down on Sunday I can't wait to see our place rendered it gonna look so different! Apparently are main floor tiles have arrived an they are being laid monday an plumber done his fit off this week an all our shower screens an mirrors have been measured up! Re: Is anyone building Eden at Skye - Stage 4 288Jul 11, 2011 12:00 pm they just have to put toilet's in, bathroom basin (looks like its broken as it was in the box still) an drive way. I think thats it an then day of handover we will get tiles an carpet done. We have finally decided after going back an forth on our blinds we are going to Romans in the main bedroom, living/Kitchen and Child retreat and the rest we will block our roller blinds because app they where saying dont put Romans in bathrooms so we figured the other rooms wont be used as much, we got a quote for about $1900 for hole house i think thats good ? lol How about u ?? Much left to do in your place???? When are you planning on getting fences done? Re: Is anyone building Eden at Skye - Stage 4 289Jul 11, 2011 4:46 pm Hi everyone, Just to let you all know If you are unsure... If you have a corner block with a fence exposed to road side, you have to have that fence capped and not higher than 1.8m. For the rest of us people with non-corner blocks, no capping is required, standard timber paling fence 1.90m is fine. Spoke with Eden @ Skye developers on this one. The diagram in Land contract/Eden @ skye guidelines is an example only. It only confirms corner block road-facing fencing. Hope this clears things up If you were after an answer. G. Re: Is anyone building Eden at Skye - Stage 4 290Jul 12, 2011 9:38 am hmm that interesting! i have quotes for both just have to see what the neighbours want. Yeh still deciding on blinds for the living areas we might wait until we have everything in the house! but gonna do bedroom an bathroom straight up. Who are you getting your blinds through? When we were down on Sunday they still had the lay main floor tile, wet area walls, grout, carpet & fix our kitchen & desk area, finish rendering and bathroom fit off they said another 6 weeks for us an well lay our drive way after handover picked a real nice colour the other day at Cranbourne pre mix! Not to sure how its gonna work out with our rental which is hard as dont think well be in by the 24th August an if we are which its not 100% we have to give notice next week ! so may have to rent our place until the 24th of Sept so we dont get screwed over and have no where to live. Re: Is anyone building Eden at Skye - Stage 4 291Jul 12, 2011 10:32 am my partner called today aswell an they said the same thing that we can just do standard so will call the neighbours this week to see what everyone wants to do. We are going to go through MTC Blinds in Dandenong, we also went to Jaleigh in Seaford who are cheaper but MTC are going to match there price so its work out. That sucks about the renting but maybe you could always give your notice an if worst comes to worst stay at a hotel for 2 weeks because its winter you may be able to get one for around $100 a night ?? It should all work out for you, fingers crossed!! Re: Is anyone building Eden at Skye - Stage 4 292Jul 12, 2011 10:52 am We can find somewhere to stay that the easy part its just we own a whole 3bedroom house worth of stuff beds etc and dont really wanna have to move our stuff twice in a space of maybe two weeks. i just wanna enjoy the whole thing an not stressing lol Re: Is anyone building Eden at Skye - Stage 4 293Jul 12, 2011 2:16 pm Called our SS today as he left a msg the other day they say around 6 weeks for us and our tiles have all been finished and grouted last friday, we just have left our taps which need to go in, glass splashbacks and our carpet is being done in the next day and then next week they will walk through and see what needs fixing and apply for the occupancy certificate! seems so far away for the little they have to do. But he might be playing it safe incase anything gets delayed! Re: Is anyone building Eden at Skye - Stage 4 295Jul 14, 2011 11:10 am We have the same prob with our walls we are putting in the welded brackets as the thing is it is harder only cause they have to did out all the aggi that has been laid next to the wall so he needs to dig through all the stone then when its done the aggi is there for drainage which end up being a problem too once its dug out the drainage system gets altered! Re: Is anyone building Eden at Skye - Stage 4 297Jul 14, 2011 3:54 pm it seems the house has just stopped i want to move in now lol !! but more time to save i spoose.. is anyone going to be getting flyscreen? not sure if its a silly qn but i obviously want them to avoid all the bugs, partner isnt a big fan of the look of them but dont think they are meant to be a feature lol Re: Is anyone building Eden at Skye - Stage 4 298Jul 14, 2011 4:21 pm We got fly screens! Not for the bi parts though, well do that later but just down at the house as we speak waiting for the other half as we had to meet the tiler all our tiles are laid! Love our tiles so much glad we upgraded them! I just wanna move in now!! I've got other numbers for fencers if any ones needs them as we got 3 quotes done! Re: Is anyone building Eden at Skye - Stage 4 300Jul 15, 2011 5:06 pm We got fly screens and security doors all the way through our place - just figured it was easier to do when building! apparently the brickie is at our place today! YEAH!!!!!! hubby is getting a couple more prices for fences - then see how we go - off to get the curtains tomorrow! I built with EB back on 2009.
