WOW!!! I've chosen Smokey Sapelle for my vanity units... and lurrrrve them HTB is very jealous of your scullery... I told him... "Maybe next time!" Re: Building switchthree90- colour selections with pics! 65Oct 18, 2010 8:32 pm Thanks everyone, I'm really happy with them, but do keep having nagging doubts about the ensuite cabinents... The scullery is what sold me on the house flaggie, every house we looked at I kept thinking "but I'd have all that storage in the scullery" my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Building switchthree90- colour selections with pics! 66Oct 18, 2010 8:54 pm Re: Building switchthree90- colour selections with pics! 67Oct 18, 2010 9:44 pm i might look too much, however if you keep the walls, towels and accessories light you can get away with the dark colours, colours are such a personal thing, what you like others might not! keep with what you are happy with, and if you love it - go for it - we're going with the baldivis display colours - but the smokey sapple is going on the horizontal mind my crazy artistic side of stupid angle photography Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Follow Feggle viewtopic.php?f=31&t=34992 Follow lilfeggle viewtopic.php?f=31&t=37149 Asbestosis Sux! I have the smokey sapple in my laundry and it looks good. My kitchen is seductive limbo crystal gloss with white gloss overheads and I have the white truffle essa stone on benchtop and the dusk in my ensuite all my colours are very similar to yours and my splashback is mercury a silver colour. After looking at your choices I feel a lot happier with mine now. Look forward to seeing your progress. Don't breath in Asbestos Re: Building switchthree90- colour selections with pics! 76Oct 20, 2010 10:09 pm Cos if you don't, the plaster will suck all the moisture out of the paint and it'll flake off. You need to use an oil based pigment sealer that stinks to high heaven butitllmean your paint lasts much longer. The alternative is waiting a period of time (can't remember, maybe 12 months) before painting. . They use gyprock in the eastern states so don't gave that issue. my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Building switchthree90- colour selections with pics! 77Oct 20, 2010 10:17 pm really? what is in the plaster that sucks the moisture out of the paint? surely the plaster is dry when you move in, it's had months to cure? i think it's a boycott between the plaster company and the paint company to make you buy a sealer lol what happens if i buy an oil based paint and tint it - would that work? I've been to Paint shops, and spoken to painters and no one can give me the same answer - so we're very suss on the whole seal thing ps - we're from the east, but second build - and we're still getting different answers - weird hey! it's like the question: why are houses in wa made in full brick? My mums got a reallly good paint dude, I can get his details, tho I'm sure he's in willetton or something. I've seen I think onc have a good answer to the double brick thing, something about the extreme heat and some other stuff.
