Don't breath in Asbestos Re: Building switchthree90 23Sep 07, 2010 10:39 pm Haven't heard a thing since they dropped off the prestart box,it's been four weeks since they told us 6-8 weeks till prestart, trying not to stress about it, tho we are away for a week in September... Do they just schedule pre start? Or do they say "sometime in this week"?? Wonder if it might be worth letting them know we are away? my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Building switchthree90 24Sep 08, 2010 1:44 am You will get the proper plans and contract next (hopefully this month sometime), then once you've gone over those and signed and returned them, you will have prestart (ours wasn't done this way, but that's the way it's meant to be done). If I were you I would ring your CLO and book prestart as soon as you get the contract/plans. Oh, and the length of time it takes them to do the plans depends on how many changes you made to the base house! Any switchers got any tips? my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Building switchthree90 32Sep 13, 2010 7:37 pm Hi tinkster only thing I can give you on tips is to have been and looked at as many displays and tiling ideas that you really like, you will always 2nd guess everything so many times, unfortunately when we did our selections switch didnt have there tiling boards done and what we selected was going to cost us $5000 extra being rectified and porcelain so went back to ceramic and with the 200x300 tiles to cut back on costs, thought it is better to put that money into the main floor that everyone would see. My tiling is to the ceiling in all wet areas wcs and laundry, so tried to keep neutral so wouldnt date in a few years. So good luck and enjoy the experience is all I can say and someone else will always end up with something you really like thats the way it is. Kazzbah61 Re: Building switchthree90 33Sep 13, 2010 10:12 pm Make your selections on the day and don't change them! We didn't have the interior design service, but the assistant we had at Myaree Ceramics was just as good. Which tile place are you using? Sep 09 Bought block, Dec 09 Engaged builder, Jul '11 Moved in Re: Building switchthree90 34Sep 20, 2010 9:52 pm tinkster Hello! After a few months lurking around I'm ready to start own our build thread! I'm Theresa, a part time nurse, mother of 2. We started toying with the idea of building a new house about april this year, mostly so that in the event we have another baby it could have its own room for a while, and so that we can solve the current HUGE storage problem we have here. We are lucky in that we built the house we are currently in around 9 years ago, which has left us in a good financial position, so that we should be able to build a new house and sell this one, and still have a mortgage the same size, or, even smaller if we are lucky. We started looking for a block of land around Canning Vale, where we are now, as we like the area and its about as far as we were prepared to go from both my husbands and my work. We were initially waiting for a block in the latest release of Bletchley park but found a smaller estate just up the road from there that was looking to be much cheaper. Dh camped out overnight on the second coldest night on history and we managed to secure 600m2 at the end of June. Titles are expected late sept-early oct. AFter looking at what feels like 300 display homes and another 600 house plans online we were initially quite attracted to a switch display home which we thought was within budget. Unfortunately, the price the sales man had written on the plan/spec list was wrong, and the specs we'd been basing things on was $60, 000 more. So, we went back to the drawing board, looked at a heap more and then saw a switch ad in the newspaper for the three90, which was very similar to the other one we'd been considering and MUCh cheaper. We met with the salesman yesterday and got back the first draft of plans, and went through the PPA, which we plan to sign early in the week. Saleman said we can expect prestart in 6-8 weeks which is a scary thought! So after all that, heres the plan. there are a few changes to come, some things we asked for have not been included, and somethings are coming off again after seeing the price! http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y119/tfal/plan.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y119/tfal/elevation.jpg Changes still to come are mostly small, except for the scullery/laundry- we want a full length linen along the wall adjacent to Bed 2, a normal door rather than the cavity slider, and the scullery will be longer than the laundry, not the other way round. Any other suggestions welcome! I ABSOLUTELY adore your plans I cannot wait to read more about your journey Re: Building switchthree90 35Sep 21, 2010 12:16 pm Thanks Jessie, I just want it all to get started now, am hoping the titles on the block come through soon. Rang the developer who said titles are still on track for mid october (not the late september we were told - of course!) I just want to get it all moving, I'd really like to get the build started before xmas, and unless they get moving quick smart it won't be my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Building switchthree90 37Sep 23, 2010 6:52 pm Wow, I absolutely love your floor plan That's very exciting seeing your street sign I had a laugh when you said you saw 300 display homes and another 600 plans online, I can so relate to that Barbs.
