We chose them for the excellent product they offer. The pre-sales was great, but the commenced pegging in mid December, and we went to lock-up 2 weeks ago. They have been extremely slow, and they have damaged a lot of the work carried out to date, which will now have to be repaired. They also made a vital error on the structure, and the communication from them has been abysmal to date. We were one of the first properties to commence build on our road, and now we are behind most of the others. We have had so many issues arise post signing of the contract, that it has cost us a lot of money - many of these things could have been avoided if they had been more forthright at the beginning. After a great start to the process, we are bitterly disappointed Re: Building switchthree90- UNconditional approval!!!! 286Jun 08, 2011 7:47 pm Oh. Thanks for that. I know a couple of people here have had similar issues with switch but really, I just don't need to hear that now, even more when you are not offering anything constructive or useful and have posted the same thing more than once I've just gotta hope they've had a very long, painful teething process my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Building switchthree90- UNconditional approval!!!! 287Jun 08, 2011 8:04 pm Well sorry to upset you. I hadn't realised it posted twice, as my computer crashed. But perhaps you can use my experience as a guide, and be better prepared to deal with them? I posted the negative comments, as I googled Switch, and the thread came up. I presume others who are thinking of building will do the same, and therefore will receive a balanced feedback. I had better not post the latest debacle then.... Good luck with your build. Re: Building switchthree90- UNconditional approval!!!! 288Jun 08, 2011 8:26 pm You posted the exact same thing on another thread. As I said, I know that there have been some issues with switch, and I'm ready for whatever it brings my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Building switchthree90- UNconditional approval!!!! 290Jun 08, 2011 9:32 pm It maybe better to pm who you had as the SS and if it is the same person than there's a high chance you may encounter same problem and more so if the build is in the same area. Re: Building switchthree90- stupid bank 291Jun 10, 2011 8:03 pm So, settlement was booked for Tuesday, didn't happen. Have spent the last three days talking to broker/bank/settlement agent/land developer. Because we are refinancing, the new bank (st george) need to take over the mortgage on our current house, after paying out our current loan (nab). Nab were saying yesterday they need 20 business days to process this, and therefore booked settlement for 30 june. At this point, yesterday, after working a night shift and not having much sleep, I cried. But today, after taking the issue to the state manager, it appears NAB are ready to go. problem of course is, monday is public holiday over east (where st george are) so the earliest we can expect settlement is wednesday The developer can, by rights, charge us fees in the neighbouhood of $60 a day for delaying settlement, but I'm hpoing I can talk them out of it. Its SO stressful, and I'm SO annoyed at nab, who had the balls to ask if we were keeping our other accounts with them (i said it depended how quickly they could do settlement) But anyway. The estate has had one, maybe 2 slabs laid this week and a couple of other site scrapes done, I'm SO jealous, I just want my house my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Building switchthree90- stupid bank 293Jun 10, 2011 9:12 pm tinkster! How very upsetting! I wish these institution knew the amount of stress they put on the consumer - it's rediculous. Watching everyone around build must be very frustrating, hang in there. At least you are closer now then you were before you got your titles?? You will most definatly be having a MASSIVE house warming when you build you new home! I'm with our dragon slaying friend and confirm they have all the agility of a drunk dugong. tinkster The developer can, by rights, charge us fees in the neighbouhood of $60 a day for delaying settlement, but I'm hpoing I can talk them out of it. You should be aware that if your bank puts you in breach of a contract because of delays like this, the bank (not you) is usually responsible for the penalties. We did not know that. I am sure we drove around the estate last week but nothing had happened. I'd better go there now and have a look. Re: Building switchthree90- stupid bank 296Jun 12, 2011 9:17 pm Drmatt- I've already told nab they'll be paying the fee's if they apply. Yup gundala. I'm past there 4 times a day (school runs) so not much gets past me Are you ready to go yet? did you decide on *? my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Building switchthree90- settlement fail! 297Jun 15, 2011 7:29 pm So settlement was sposed to happen at 2:45 today, and for some bizarre reason, our new bank didn't think to draw a cheque for the old bank, who kinda need that before they hand over the titles. And, cos it happened so late, nothing could happen because eastern states banks were already closed by the time the snafu went down. so, friday, at the earliest Beyond annoyed, totally depressed. On the upside- I went back to freedom excess and snagged 2 3 seater lounges for $1100, will add a pic later, but this afternoon sucked all the enjoyment out of it for me my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Building switchthree90- settlement fail! 298Jun 15, 2011 8:12 pm Tinks... so sorry to hear this. So frustrating that the people that are suppose to do their job properly don't Hope everything is good to go on Friday!! Re: Building switchthree90- stupid bank 299Jun 15, 2011 10:38 pm Hi Tinsker, Sorry to hear about your trouble with the bank. tinkster Yup gundala. I'm past there 4 times a day (school runs) so not much gets past me Are you ready to go yet? did you decide on *? You were right. I was so surprised with what I saw on Sunday at Ashwood lanes. Two concrete slabs on two blocks. I think one from Blueprint homes and the other one unknown. We have settled the block but still have not decided with the builder Re: Building switchthree90- settlement fail! 300Jun 17, 2011 5:34 pm Finally, on the third attempt settlement has happened. Banks finally playing nicely. St george have admitted they are liable for late fees which is good as its just over $700 Got a copy of building license and council approval docs today as well, so with any luck we'll get a site start sometime soon my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 About a year ago, I embarked on a DIY project to construct an outdoor Pergola, which measures approximately 5.2 meters by 4.0… 0 29917 I have motorised roller blinds in my house.
