Final plans were all done (3rd revision) and I was putting them in the envelope to take back and noticed an error on the site plan, so hopefully the new one will arrive and then I'll drop them all off on Monday, inching closer and closer to our goal! my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Building switchthree90- UNconditional approval!!!! 263May 31, 2011 7:37 pm Loan docs signed (some scary numbers on there!) Congrats on the approval, we on the otherhand are still waiting to hear from the bank. Btw, if you don't mind me asking, regarding the interior designer you have, was it included in your package? If not, could you recommend anyone? Would love to hear how much you paid for their services as well. Thanks a lot. Srichz Re: Building switchthree90- UNconditional approval!!!! 272Jun 01, 2011 7:54 pm srichz- hopefully you'll hear from the bank soon, probably the worst thing to wait for cos theres that "what if they say no" niggling thought!! The interior designer was included in the package, and works for switch. We didn't have one last time tho, and found the lady at the tile shop just as helpful. I do recommend getting a colour consult done once you are in, we had one come out and help us pick paint colours here, cost about $100 and you get a credit back off their brand paint so definitely worth it imo my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Building switchthree90- UNconditional approval!!!! 273Jun 03, 2011 12:41 pm Really looking forward to seeing some work done on your block, to be honest! From what I've seen of the Switch homes, they seem to have a really good balance of offering a great value home, but doing the little things that other builders (without paying millions+) won't do. Their finish products have always looked a couple steps ahead of other builders display homes. I made the comment that one day, I could hopefully see myself building with Switch. Other than that. Spam spam spam! Lets see if we can get this baby to 20 pages before slab! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=46664 Building in Baldivis, Western Australia. First home, with Impressions. Would love it if you were to stop by some time! Re: Building switchthree90- UNconditional approval!!!! 274Jun 03, 2011 2:05 pm I'm looking forward to it to!! I've like all the switch displays too, but just can't wait to see ours! Spoke to the builder and they said 1-2 weeks after its issued to construction (which they expect to happen next week when council approval and settlement happen) we should have a slab. But, they just sent me a variation for soakwells by builder, despite the salesman assuring me we'd be able to do it post handover, not sure where I'm meant to pull $4500 from. *sigh* I just want my house. my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Building switchthree90- UNconditional approval!!!! 276Jun 03, 2011 6:35 pm Apparently, but we have it in writing from the sales dude that we can do it ourselves. I rang them and they said it's their responsibility but if we really want to do them ourselves we can, but site supervisor will need to be on site. I said as long as we can get some warning no hassles. My dad, 2 brothers and dh can do it over a weekend. Thank god! I was wondering which child to sell for thr $$ my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Building switchthree90- UNconditional approval!!!! 277Jun 03, 2011 7:04 pm Because of the rains and flooding that's been happening for a few years now, council now requires soakwell done. Reason. My neighbour case in point. Left garage boundary d/p not soakwelled for 1 year plus even though they did the rest and now when it rains, it runs onto our side and wash our sand under the driveway away. What's worse is he knew it would cause it cause he directed the flow away from his driveway and don't care about ours. Re: Building switchthree90- UNconditional approval!!!! 278Jun 03, 2011 9:04 pm Just caught up on all your news ... hope things fly from here! Re: Building switchthree90- UNconditional approval!!!! 279Jun 03, 2011 9:16 pm Duke- the issue is that we were told we could do it ourselves. It could have been included the mortgage if they'd told us earlier and not waited til the week before settlement when everything is signed. Least they agreed we can do it, save some $ my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Building switchthree90- UNconditional approval!!!! 280Jun 04, 2011 8:37 am Understood but that's why the builder now needs to do the soakwells as part of the build so it gurantees that it is done. About a year ago, I embarked on a DIY project to construct an outdoor Pergola, which measures approximately 5.2 meters by 4.0… 0 29583 waste of time for us having both, living only need one or the other.
