Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 31, 2010 5:44 pm Hi all, My neighbour believes my new slab is in the wrong spot. Basically the distance from slab to his wall is not what the dispensation drawings indicated. I don't believe the draftsman used a surveyor and took his own site measurements from neighbour’s house. The builder is saying that he laid the slab based on the boundary surveyor’s results to which he has indicated that the boundaries have moved - survey work came post council dispensation approval and neighbours sign off - The result is 15cm closer to the neighbour. Neighbour is not taking action yet, and may not; however I want to prepare myself as he is indicating an overshadowing problem. Any thoughts on this? Personaly I would have thought that when the builder new of the problem prior to laying the slab that he should have consulted me first or if the surveyor signing off the building permit should have picked up on the differnce between council approved dimensions versus the new boundary dimensions.
