Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 28, 2010 5:20 pm Hi All! After three months of stalking the forum, i thought it was about time i made my own building thread ! Well my hubby and i are building with a company called "Kerdels" in a suburb called "Darch" (NOR Perth). This is actually our second build, we built our first house in "Clarkson". Our builder said our plans would be submitted to the council by the end of this week and we will possibly have a 4 week wait for approval, but there is a slim chance it could happen quicker *fingers crossed!*' I will post my plans and selections in the next couple of days ! They said if we used limestone it would be REALLY expensive and our footings would have to be double the original size, Building in Darch 2010 (NOR PERTH) Land Titles Released 25/06/10 Land Settlement 14/07/10 Prestart Completed 17/08/10 Plans in Council 16/08/10 Building Licence Approved 22/09/10 Slab Poured 30/09/10 Bricking Started 14/10/10 Bricking Finished 26/10/10 Our Journey!! https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36447 Our Blog Spot! http://joelnjayedarch.blogspot.com/ Re: Mr & Mrs Smith's Building Thread!! :) 5Jul 29, 2010 3:40 pm So here are our plans! quite simple, but it has everything we want! We did a few little changes, added a media room, made the kitchen bigger, extended the garage and alfresco and made our room a touch bigger, i really really love the open plan living style we have and cant wait to be in it! (Very similar to ours with the big open living areas! Love it! ) Our block has a 1 metre fall to the back and a drop down from our neighbours land to ours. So we will have to put up a retaining wall also. Not too sure what type we will get yet either (I guess it depends on the budget at the end of the day!) Stone will be more expensive but I guess it is more durable and will last longer (and it looks good too IMO). Sorry I can't be more helpful! It's such a pain and we where only told yesterday and the plans are due into council on monday, but i guess its one of those little suprises that pop up during building! I would prefer limestone but apparently if we had it we would not have much space along the side access, and where our little nook for our tv unit is, we wouldnt be able to fit a wheel barrow through the gap...so i guess panel and post it it!
