Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 28, 2010 3:30 pm Hi all, We are building in Kalina Estate of The Ponds and are waiting on our plans to come back from Allworth. Once we get these ,we will draw the landscape plans. I looked at Noddy's plans (http://noddytheponds.blogspot.com/) and Andy_Min's plans (http://andyminpondsbuild.blogspot.com/). Both did it themselves so we have decided to do them ourselves. 1. My question is regarding landscaping plant selections. I went to local nursery and noted few plants. If I put these in and get it passed by Kalina design panel, then when we actually do landscaping after handover, does any one know if we can change our landscape plan or is it set in stone and any changes would require an approval from Kalina/The Ponds? 2. And if we don't ask them and change the plants/layout, does it endager the $5k landscaping rebate ? 3. Does Blacktown council have a list of recommended/approved plants we can use? ------------------------------------------------------- http://homeinkalina.blogspot.com Enjoying our new Concerto with Allworth Homes in Kalina, The Ponds Handover - 28/06/2011 Re: Landscape Plans in Kalina/The Ponds 2Jul 28, 2010 3:49 pm As far as I remember, plants HAVE to be amongst those on the approved list in the kalina guidelines. You should have gotten the guideline booklet after purchasing the land. They are not specified by the blacktown council, but by the Kalina design panel themselves. You could probably get another copy by visiting the kalina office. Not sure about the other questions, lucky for you I have a phone number for one of the people on the design committee. Simon - 0412060604 Give 'em hell! p.s - the designs are a little bit different than the ponds. For example you need to include two native tree's in your back yard (which our landscaper didnt know about) Building with McDonald Jones - Bordeaux 14m @ the ponds in sydney's north-west Build Blog => http://damianandannasabode.blogspot.com/ Construction status - DONE. Re: Landscape Plans in Kalina/The Ponds 3Jul 29, 2010 9:17 pm Thanks danana for this info. We got the Guidelines book but it shows only very few plants and says Recommended plants, so would think these are not compulsory and there could be more options outside the ones listed. I will call Simon in next couple of days to find this out. Thanks again and good luck with your build soon! ------------------------------------------------------- http://homeinkalina.blogspot.com Enjoying our new Concerto with Allworth Homes in Kalina, The Ponds Handover - 28/06/2011 Landscape Design Parramatta We have been doing a large amount of landscape design work in Sydney… 0 3 Need advice on the backyard plan above. Should I excavate and cut all of the dirt to level with the house slab or semi-excavate as per photo above? Both left and right… 0 24864 Thanks very much! And would the landscaper/contractor generally involve the engineer or is that something the client would do? Thanks for your help 2 10025 |
