Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 28, 2010 2:38 pm I really like a couple of light fixtures from beacon that are indoor lights and was wondering if I can install them outside? (Under the alfresco over the table, under cover) The women at beacon didnt know and just said 'they wouldnt be covered by warranty if they were outside (which doesnt bother my, its only $150) but im more concerned safety wise if it would be a problem or not? So if your an electrician, is this ok? I know anyone would probably just do it but Id like some other opionions, even if others have installed an 'interior' light fitting under your alfresco Why cant they make super nice alfresco lights?! Re: any electricians out there? Question??? 2Jul 29, 2010 11:59 am Can you pop up a picture of the fitting in question? There are several things that I would be concerned about (i'm not a sparky) like corrosion/rust. But with it being under a fixed roof alfresco area, so long as it was out of all but the worst weather, it should not be a problem. Some people don't have time to do the job right the first time, but seem to have plenty of time to fix their mistakes. Build Thread Re: any electricians out there?
