Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 28, 2010 11:29 am Howdy all,
I haven't seen any info on this forum regarding our builder- Beechwood Homes in SA (different builder to Beechwood interstate!), so I thought I would throw up a few of the thousands of pics I took along the way. I was on site most days so got to see in detail the work that was done as I did our electricals with my FIL (he is the sparky I was the lacky) Overall we were very happy with the build, although we still have sooooooo much stuff to complete... Start to finish was under 9 months (I think they guarantee 36 weeks from slab pour), They listened to our wishes and planned accordingly, changes to original plan were done quickly and properly. I was impressed most by the chippies and brickies, their work was top notch and really accurate. The standard selections range was impressive with a huge choice in tiling, finishes and options. Of course there have been a few negatives, but nothing out of the ordinary- costs altered a fair bit from original estimate, and these guys are already priced in the 'premium' building range, but we sort of expected that. We had some issues with paintwork, some plaster blemishes, and cracking HOWEVER Beechwood have come back to address these things (12 months later) and I am happy with most of the follow up work What, you want pics....... Can I ask about your floors? Were they done by the builder or did you source them from somewhere in Adelaide yourself? Re: Our Beechwood Homes build, Adelaide SA (Pic heavy!) 9Jul 28, 2010 2:57 pm stegosaurus W-O-W stunning home Nick! Can I ask about your floors? Were they done by the builder or did you source them from somewhere in Adelaide yourself? Thanks, I have to say the house looks huge in pics but it isnt really all that big (being an undercroft design) Floors were done by a local company AFTER handover. Great house, we thought about building with them but our budget wouldnt stretch unfortunately! The street looks very familiar to me but I dont recognise the house so perhaps its not!! (dont want to mention suburbs incase you dont want to either) Re: Our Beechwood Homes build, Adelaide SA (Pic heavy!) 12Jul 28, 2010 8:25 pm Did you build a house or a shopping complex!! Its bloody massive!!! WOW!! And Awesome views I bet! Looks HOT Re: Our Beechwood Homes build, Adelaide SA (Pic heavy!) 13Jul 28, 2010 8:45 pm Ha ha ha, the house isn't big at all. Most of the living area is the second storey, downstairs we only have the garage, entry, home theatre and undercroft storage area (aka dungeon). We would have liked a lot more rooms with three kids! We now have about 80-100 square meters of retaining, a LOT of soil to shift, gardens, paving, and a driveway to go outside. Then we still need to put window furnishings down stairs- lucky one of our wonderful neighbors is a luxaflex dealer. We also ditched all our furniture before we moved and now we need to buy just about eveything.... We are sleeping on a mattress on the floor! The kids got new beds first. Firstly, if your house is still under builder's warranty (10 years in Victoria) you should have no need to crawl into roof space but let the builder handle it, unless you… 3 5640 What size are the windows, double or single glazed, can I have a pic of the full windows inside & out? If you can see packers please take a pic. 1 12402 Sorry! I'm new to this forum and have made a mistake in my posting! I'm looking for a structural solution to a stand alone wooden pickets fence with no structural rail… 1 3297 |
