Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 27, 2010 1:09 pm Hi all, I was looking everywhere and then my mind asked me there is one forum where you will always get your answers.... Thanks forum please suggest! I'm looking for selecting front door for my house and timber doors are too costly and out of my budget. People had suggested me that I can have timber look on normal Corinthian door... Can anyone please either post the pic or share information whether it will look good or not? Cheers, Simpson Re: House front Corinthian door with Timber stain -- Pics pl 2Jul 27, 2010 3:05 pm Hi Simpson Not sure what you mean here - as all doors (I think?) are made from timber? You can get a few different grades of door - cheapest I think is paint grade, and then you can also get stain grade, and I think you can also get 'raw timber' as well (which can just be varnished). I have had my corinthian front door stained - I have attached a 'before' pic for you - I don't believe this is a 'stain grade' door as the painter wasn't happy with it... So it is possible to get a good result using a lower grade door, but it does take some effort (and subsequently the builder may charge $$$). Oh and I think it would look okay without the glass, but maybe just get a pattern of some description in the door to stop it looking too plain. So it adds something to the door, but not glass thats a suggestion Re: House front Corinthian door with Timber stain -- Pics pl 7Jul 27, 2010 8:08 pm Hey Simpson I picked up a Corinthian brochure from Bunnings a while ago. Bunnings had a section full of different brochures where they have kitchens set up on display. If you pick up one of those brochures they have pictures of all their doors with the codes. I hope this helps.
