Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 23, 2010 1:28 pm Hi Guys As a first home owner I have no idea about anything to do with houses and building... I am one month away from handover and have just found out about extra costs that my builders 'forgot' to mention to me... eg: I need to provide my own storm water system, (which I think is stupid) I have to have perimetre paver's around my home within 6 months, Rainwater tank before I move in... This has got me thinking... what else don't I know about!! Is there anything else that will pop up un-expectantly after hand over? I need to know as my bank took away a large chunk of my 'after handover' savings with some stupid fee I didnt' know about and I would really love to know how much extra I will need to spend on things that HAVE to be done once moved in. Thanks for any help you can provide! <3 Re: After Handover 2Jul 23, 2010 1:59 pm Our finance company made us include the stormwater, floor coverings, perimeter paving, and fencing.
