BUt it is worth at the end.. about Pre-start, if you just upgrade electricals then it wont cost you fortune. $65 for DGPO $100 for phone point. Dont forget to ask for Solar panels 1.5 KW for $999. If possible go for bathroom package as well.. worth.. Let me know if you need more details.. Regards, Aussie123 Re: First Time Builder - RedInk Homes 12Jul 31, 2010 9:11 pm Hi guys, We found them quite nice but quite slow. We signed up in October last year, waited on my titles for land but did all the paperwork we could and had prestart in May. Plans were sent off to council around start of June and we are still waiting for approval! We found most things were ok and we upgraded heaps of things, I think we made 100 changes or additions. Whats this bathroom package you talk about?? Yes until you get your final drawings and you sign off that everything is correc tyou can make as many changes as you like but try and do them all at once cause the more you change one thing here and one thing there the longer you wait. We made changes here and then and when we received our final plans and signed off on them any changes we make now will incur a $250 cost so you would only do it if it was to really benefit you. Re: First Time Builder - RedInk Homes 14Aug 01, 2010 10:51 am Hi, I would be questioning that $650 cost!! We changed heaps of things at prestart and havent been charged anything to do so, however now that we have signed final plans and marked that all changed were made correctly at prestart if we change now we do get slogged the $250.00 but def not $650.00! We made lots of structual changes which varied in price but a few things we did do that I was happy to pay was window sills on our study and bedroom windows - around $450 for all of them. Extra shelving in main wirs with shelving $700 for both. We were also able to provide all our tapware and plumbing gear which we did and it saved near 4k. We were priced 5k for it all and we supplied it all for 1k ourselves and they will still install it all. We even got a 400 credit so you can see that that it really only cost us about 600 for it all. We upgraded the toilet as they only give you cheap plastic ones which I suggest you upgrade as ours in our last house broke and moved around and they are the same brand as what redink are supplying. If I can give you a tip before prestart work out anything you have a query on even if you think you may not get it (from cornices upgrade to carpet packages) as some prices will suprise you and we found our stove was cheaper from them than for us to buy it ourselves. Also if you ask for prices on everything you dont have to email them later waiting on a price and then it holds everything up. When you go to prestart they will type all your questions on a computer and within 2 - 4 days they will either email or send you our your costings and then you go through the list and tick next to the items you want, sign each page and send it back off. We had ours quoted for essa stone and it came in as 8k with waterfall edge we could of gotten it afterwards for about 6k We were also told that they get essa stone cheaper so I dont want to know how much their ceaserstone would of cost us. We ended up getting diamondgloss which cost us about 2k but I am hoping that will give us the same effect until we can save for the rest. I got my living area as 31c and rest of the house including entrance as 28c. Someone suggested i should go for either raked or recess ceiling either in entrace floyer or in home theatre. Help me to decide. what are the pros and cons for this kind of ceiling. Re: First Time Builder - RedInk Homes 16Aug 06, 2010 3:14 pm Hi Rhi3384 - thanks for your tipw which brand plastic toilet red ink gives. How much does it cost to upgrade? have u got any idea as to how much they charge for overhead cupboards in kitchen. Re: First Time Builder - RedInk Homes 17Aug 17, 2010 12:47 am help with tiles selection please. I was looking at the standard tiles range selection for redink at magic tiles centre in mayree but found there is not much choice. I have not been to any other store. does any one know as to which store has the maximum selection. Does any one know as to how much will be the upgrade charges for tiles if we go out of standard range. Re: First Time Builder - RedInk Homes 18Aug 17, 2010 11:34 am Hi. yep the standard range sucks...-_- they don't have varieties at all. Try Ozzie Park..but yeah.. We were so sure we'd just stick with standard as it's going to be investment in couple of years time, and we ended up upgrading everything............. haven't got any cost. still waiting. will let you know but it'll vary a lot as tiles vary lots. Re: First Time Builder - RedInk Homes 19Aug 17, 2010 9:35 pm We didnt end up upgrading and I think we did quite well Remember if you upgrade your tile if you go out the size your allowed not only do you pay extra for the tile you pay extra for the layer and from what I remember we looked at the 100 x 300 and it was about and extra 100 for both bathrooms RHI - BALDIVIS PERTH 2005 Bought/Finished WA Housing Centre Home 2010 Building the Benchmark with REDINK Homes in The Avalon 2013 Building the Michigan with Cont3nt Living In Highbury Estate! yes it does, you've just not understood it. theres a difference. 4 5346 Your house should come in "as new" condition.
