We got to put the "sold" sign up on our lot board today.
Yeah, it was a little windy.

Well done, we have just gone "under contract" too. How big's your block mate - it looks enourmous!

The block is in Mernda, on the northern outskirts of Melbourne. We're about three minutes' drive from the Melbourne 2030 boundary!
The block is 748 square metres. Our house will be sited on the right boundary (with the garage on the fence). There's a 2m easement at the back that we'll fall short of by around 2½ metres, but then there's a massive tract of land down the west side that will make a nice garden. And with the front of our house to the south we can plant a tree fern right outside our bedroom window.

My parents spent the weekend in Rutherford and ran into someone from Mum's choir here in Melbourne. It does happen!
I think I'd be pretty excited to have a stalker, actually.

I like your idea of the harden on the west side. Plenty of shady plants/trees in the summer will certainly help things.
Funnily enough, even though it's going to be around twelve months until we move in, I'm already planning garden layouts and plant purchases. Whilst I don't want to put a big trellis over the bedroom windows to the west, I'm also interested in putting some deciduous plants right up against them to keep them cool in summer and let the light in in winter.
Plenty to think about!
