We have waited 10 months for land settlement which should happen in about 3 weeks, so we are not to far behind. By the way great to see another fellow bambooer...what colour bamboo floors are you getting? Re: My building Thread - I now have my own patch of dirt 46Jul 26, 2010 9:41 pm handmick Hi Janelle, congratulations on loan approval and an imminent site start. We have waited 10 months for land settlement which should happen in about 3 weeks, so we are not to far behind. By the way great to see another fellow bambooer...what colour bamboo floors are you getting? Hey Handmick I'm getting my bamboo floors through Bamboo Select. The colour is called Australiana. It has 3 variations of colour through it - natural, coffee and another a bit darker again. I love bamboo. Who are you getting your's through and what colour are you getting? Are you laying yours yourself or having it installed by a professional? Land settlement is the longest wait - the only positive to it is it gives you plenty of time to check things out for your house such as bamboo floors. I spent about a month researching it and visiting different suppliers etc. I just had a quick look on your blog and thread, your block is huge. Riddles Creek is a beautiful place. Re: My building Thread - I now have my own patch of dirt 53Jul 26, 2010 10:16 pm Awesome! Your block looks so clean! Pity it will be all boggy soon lol But it will all be worth it very soon. Your going to have a huge backyard! Thats great Re: My building Thread - I now have my own patch of dirt 54Jul 26, 2010 10:33 pm handmick Yeah we love it here. We will sell current house later this year (hope), we are only 7 minute walk to new block. Dp wants to know if you are goin to glue down your floor? No I'm having the floating floors. I have heard (on this forum of course) if they are glued down they don't sound as hollow when you walk on them. I just thought if an area was to get damaged in the future I could replace them if they were floating. Are you floating or gluing? I must remember not to wear the ugg boots next time I go it looks good until you start walking on it! My poor ugg boots are caked with mud. Best I get myself to Bunnings for some gumboots. Your place is looking great, love the tiles. I also love the colour of your cabinets in your ensuite or bathroom, it goes great with the tiles. They are his plans and he owns the copyright to them. However, I do have a link to there website in my building blog, I'm hoping they don't mind me doing that. Plans and photo's of the display house can be seen there. As for you being a follower PLJ I certainly don't mind. The more the merrier. It's nice to share our experiences with one another that only our fellow building friends understand. Do you have a site start date yet? I'm still waiting and hoping it will start in roughly 2 weeks. I'm not a fan of the hollow sound when you walk on floating floors, but hopefully the beautiful look of them will distract me from the sound they make Thread - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36205 Land Settled - 19 Jul Site Scrape - 23 Aug Slab - 2 Oct Frame - 27 Oct Locked Out - 1 Dec Handover - 11 Mar Re: My building Thread - I now have my own patch of dirt 60Jul 28, 2010 8:00 pm Janelle Do you have a site start date yet? I'm still waiting and hoping it will start in roughly 2 weeks. It would be nice if I can have a head start in this race of ours ok well you have a good head start seeing im not even in council yet...lol but im confident. i better look at the link though cause im building a 45sq home and i dont know what you are building yet...hahahahaha. as far as putting plans up... you shouldnt worry i have seen it before... where someone else will eventually do it anyway... just to ask you a question about them. so dont be upset if they end up on here at some point. if they are copywrite then they cant manufacture the same plan anyway without his permission... so stress less and let the race begin... the bet ok here it is.....hand over day with keys in hand wins.... loser payment.... a strawberry plant mailed to the property.....you in? https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=37134 THE THREAD https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=35962 THE BLOG! http://pedrosinspiredbeauty.blogspot.com/ BRICKS BRICKS ARE FINISHED...
