They appear to be positive with just a few things to look out for, so that is encouraging. Just have not seen anyone post about this design. Any suggestions on what we should be asking? This is not going to include all the selections at the Edge, but I guess we will start to get some ideas about what we should be considering. The facade is on the list to discuss; just what are the differences are from standard to premium (we don't really like the other options), are their standard Barrington's we can look at, etc. Chatz Re: Experience with building Barrington 3100 from Burbank? 6Jul 25, 2010 7:00 pm Yup, very happy with Burbank Re: Experience with building Barrington 3100 from Burbank? 7Jul 29, 2010 2:28 pm We met with Burbank yesterday and walked through the display home at Berwick. I'm sure everyone has experienced how quickly the options add up and we certainly have that problem as well. One option we are undecided on is increasing the height of the ceilings. We are planning to get the traditional facade, it looks pretty good compared to most standard facade options on homes, so we are not getting the height increased as part of that option. What do others think? Was it a must have or a nice to have for you? For those who didn't do it, did you regret it later? Thanks, Chatz Re: Experience with building Barrington 3100 from Burbank? 8Jul 29, 2010 2:50 pm Our ceiling height is 2590mm or 8.5 feet it wasn't a must but needed due to 600mm eaves, so it had to be done. My only must have 900mm cooking . http://burbankascent2500.blogspot.com/ https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=28503 [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/] HOUSE COMPLETED IN 119 DAYS PCI Complete Handover 24th August Re: Experience with building Barrington 3100 from Burbank? 9Jul 29, 2010 3:44 pm We have gone with only 450mm eaves, so the ceiling height was not even raised an an issue. I agree the 900mm stove is a must (my wife might read this) Chatz Re: Experience with building Barrington 3100 from Burbank? 10Jul 29, 2010 9:08 pm Only seems become a issue 600mm, got something to do with roof pitch's . I am glad they little higher than normal though. Price wise it $4,061 for the 2590mm ceiling for 25sq house. Just checked out the facades I wasn't most of the either for me it would be the traditional or giselle modfied http://burbankascent2500.blogspot.com/ https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=28503 [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/] HOUSE COMPLETED IN 119 DAYS PCI Complete Handover 24th August Re: Experience with building Barrington 3100 from Burbank? 11Jul 29, 2010 9:42 pm Hi there, I can report that we've been happy with Burbank so far - though I would just say definitely watch for all the upgrades that are in the display homes. We found that almost everything was an upgrade that was used, so it's helpful to know this in order to build some fat in to the budget! I'm pretty sure it's the same for each of the volume builders, but it was something that I learnt through reading the fine print pretty diligently. We did go for the higher ceilings (and doors) and are really happy about doing that - it was a must have for us, especially since one of us is over 6 ft tall! We also listed eaves as a must have. Good luck! Re: Experience with building Barrington 3100 from Burbank? 12Jul 29, 2010 9:53 pm Yup I agree Traditional and Giselle (modified) are the better of the lot....looking at Barrington pics I would say go for the fireplace shared between Theatre and living (not sure how much of a big hole is that on the pocket). Having difficulty fitting a fireplace in our Ascent 2500 . Other choices would be pot drawers (not sure if Ideal series already have this as std)...something which I know my DW is going thank me for I am sure others would have their own list too 26/2 - Sales 23/3 - Colours 31/3 - Tender 14/4 - Contract 7/5 - Taps 12/6 - Site start 15/6 - Slab 27/6 - Frame 1/8 - Lockup/Fixing 29/9 - PCI 25/10 - Handover Re: Experience with building Barrington 3100 from Burbank? 14Jul 30, 2010 10:05 am chatz The shared fireplace is about $10000, so we are giving that a miss But we went for the pot drawers. I just updated the blog on our other selections so far... We did this to get a price comparison, we expected them to come out pretty close; one builder might have solar power thrown in, another would have an upgrade somewhere else. However, looking at some similar sized homes and adding similar options we are finding Henley are at least $20K cheaper. We are able to spec up a Henley to include all the flooring (tiling the living/entry at Burbank was not cheap), fireplaces etc, and they include things like raised ceilings as standard. And yet we are still ahead of Burbank. I assume others did a similar comparison, I'm just wondering what you found? Chatz Re: Experience with building Barrington 3100 from Burbank? 16Aug 03, 2010 2:06 pm Yes we narrowed down to 2 Burbank and Brentwood http://www.brentwoodhomes.com.au/chelsea-floorplan.html. Our decision was made after Brentwood would up the base price every 2 weeks . This house included tiles and carpets as well. One is getting built in our street and I happy we went with Burbank. Good luck with the decision making . Oh I love this plan by them but display that was in Botanic Ridge has since been sold. http://www.brentwoodhomes.com.au/cumberland-floorplan.html http://burbankascent2500.blogspot.com/ https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=28503 [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/] HOUSE COMPLETED IN 119 DAYS PCI Complete Handover 24th August Re: Experience with building Barrington 3100 from Burbank? 17Aug 03, 2010 3:08 pm We have included a Jet Master gas fire place in our Evolution 23 options list. $5,000 installed. BB was competitive with quotes from other fire place distributors. The Evolution is to small for a double sider fire place. I also considered installing a gas fire place in the Alfresco. I managed to avoid that temptation. Will purchase a good quality Chimmenea for $1,000 later. Re: Experience with building Barrington 3100 from Burbank? 18Aug 04, 2010 11:40 pm 5k sounds about right for a single side one. I checked Agnews Fireplace for the Ethanol (ECO) range. Somehow they look very big and not so attractive and need continuous refills plus it does heat the place that much. 26/2 - Sales 23/3 - Colours 31/3 - Tender 14/4 - Contract 7/5 - Taps 12/6 - Site start 15/6 - Slab 27/6 - Frame 1/8 - Lockup/Fixing 29/9 - PCI 25/10 - Handover Hi All, Recently we have signed a contract with Burbank and we are not aware that they have just DORSET, SURREY, HAMPSHIRE, KENT, PILBARA and REDGUM bricks from PGH are… 0 1184 Hello, Whats peoples current experience building with Carlisle, specifically in SouthEast Melbourne?
