WOW! just read through your updates and very excited for you and your start! love love love the chair for the bedroom, i was thinking of something to put in my retreat space in my bedroom and i think i am going to have to copy! haha! We've got tender in two weeks but have'nt even had the meeting with hopetoun or argus yet! you've given me some advice on upgrades though...congrats on the start and i'll be following with great interest Thanks! Go and buy it now if you have room, it's on sale now LOL If you have time Hopetoun is open on weekends, go and have a look/browse with colours and things so you have a fair idea of what you want. Our electrical was also about $6k (downlights, reinforcements for heavy light fittings, extra power points etc), we probably could have had downlights put in later but we just really didn't want to have to LOL Where did you buy it!?! the other half will kill me but if it's on sale he'll understand..hahaha...or else i'll tell my sister to hide it for me for the next 7 months! I got it at Everyday Living, on sale at $299 and then she took another $50 off, definitely worth the money, I look at it like an investment for the future My building thread : viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36059 Paid initial deposit 24/7/10 Tender appointment 20/8/2010 Flooring and tile appointment 25/9/10 Colour and Electrical appointment 13/9/10 December site start delayed Site start (YAY!) 17/1/11 Slab pour 1/2/2011 Re: Our Pakenham Ivanhoe, added some selection pics page 3 85Jan 14, 2011 6:11 pm building1 The upside? Heading out looking at more furniture today, and i've also bee scouring ebay as i'm feeling inspired to try and restore an old piece of furniture. Have also found a couple of places that will do a 6 month lay-by, kudos to them, and they'll get some of our business as we'd find it so much easier to pay off over time rather than sit on the money My building thread : viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36059 Paid initial deposit 24/7/10 Tender appointment 20/8/2010 Flooring and tile appointment 25/9/10 Colour and Electrical appointment 13/9/10 December site start delayed Site start (YAY!) 17/1/11 Slab pour 1/2/2011 Re: Our Pakenham Ivanhoe, Tomorrow we start counting! 88Jan 16, 2011 12:42 pm WOOHOO for tomorrow! Agreed about the rain though. Since when do we get rain, let alone in summer haha. We had a similar strategy for down lights. We didn't go over board, but really had to think about downstairs, as it'll be pretty hard to get them done once the 2nd storey is up. I still like the Ivanhoe a lot. Before we decided to go with a 2 storey, we were going to build the Illoura, but we gave this one a real serious look over because of the bigger main bathroom. The Illoura's was pretty small, even in the 36. So I'm muchly looking forward to the progress of yours Land Deposit - 18/12/2009 Became a land Baron - 21/12/2010 Site Start - 27/1/2011 All moved in!! Re: Our Pakenham Ivanhoe, off and running (in theory anyway) 90Jan 17, 2011 1:10 pm Today, D-Day, what does the D stand for anyway? Dormant?? Coz thats what it is. Went for a drive to the dirt, and nothing, so all a bit of an anticlimax, maybe it's too early (at lunchtime) for them to turn some dirt over for us LOL We'll try again tomorrow....
