Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering Re: Wrong Carpet Colour 21Nov 17, 2007 2:42 pm Hello,
Carpet never got changed. They said that they would re lay it at half price for us if we wanted to. just before christmas and with a new mortgage? NO THANKS!! In the end the customer service coordinator and the colour consultant team started to blame each other and told me TOO BAD SO SAD!! i told them that they should stop making people feel like they are just one in 100,000 clients (heck - we ARE though!) and that building a home is a big BIG deal. Also, they should take responsibility for their own incompetence, because the colour consultant admits that she remembers us orderig grey carpet, and when we had doubts about our colour schedule being wrong and asked the co-ordinator if we could go in there and check everything, she said "no that would be useless because you have already signed". well the manager of colour selection said that they would have been more than happy to go over the schedule for us and something definatley COULD have been done if we had of encountered the problem earlier. so like i said, they won't take responsibility for their own staffs incompetence. (spellcheck!!) so everyone, take photos of things when you do your colour schedule. don't rely on the dopey colour schedule girls!! THEY HAVE FINISHED THE HOUSE AFTER NINE LONG MONTHS... BUT! The carpet is the wrong colour... In a corporate law course I did the words were - once an order is sent by the sender - be it post or fax, it is deemed to have been received. But as the guy said - try to avoid court cases because no-one wins. Good luck - I thinkit is just going to take a bit of time to get sorted until the carpet man goes - damn Thanks Yak Chat...we finally got an answer..we were offered $1,000 compensation for the wrong order by the builder (the carpet company takes no responsibility) if we insist on the revised order then we will have to wait till feb....we decided to take the offer so we can be in by 1st Dec!!!! Re: Wrong Carpet Colour 25Nov 17, 2007 10:05 pm Ladyice,
This may have been a blessing in disguise! I'm not sure about the specs of the carpet you got as opposed to the 'thicker' one you wanted, but the lower profile carpet may well perform better anyway. Carpets that are too thick can settle a lot in traffic ways. Lower profile but very dense pile carpets tend to wear better.
