Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 14, 2010 12:28 am I was told my appliances stove, oven will not be in for the final inspection. Is it safe for me to do a final inspection with out these major things in the house? Is it common? not to have them installed for the inspection. It means they can come back anytime (some time in the future to install them). I feel final means final. What if the stove is scratched or some other defect. Any other ideas or addvice on final inspections would be great. Cheers Kw......... “It's just as unpleasant to get more than you bargain for as to get less” George Bernard Shaw. Re: Final inspection but no stove. 2Jul 14, 2010 12:33 am The stove and other appliances are installed after the keys have been handed over to you. You will need to make sure you have taken out insurance to start at the time of handover. It is standard practice. If something is wrong with the appliance it is still their obligation to replace it. Re: Final inspection but no stove. 5Jul 18, 2010 6:42 pm All our appliances were on site the day after lock-up (we're in WA). It was approx 3 months later that we had handover. Have read quite a read threads on here about others not having them installed until after handover in case of theft. I guess it depends on your builder and what area you live in. Will you be moving in straight away? Also, you can make note on the final inspection paperwork that appliances have not been installed (if the builder hasn't already done this), that way if there are any issues later on, you are covered. i would suggest nothing is unreasonable for PCI. we did all sorts, including checking the hot water, checking all the GPO's had power, testing that the showers were… 9 98678 The significant date is when receive final payment invoice Check that section of contract Bit of fluff by builders prior to that 1 15937 Joe, it depends on your certifier but we are noticing the ones we deal with are really cracking down.
