We moved into our new home last July. We have complained to our builder from day one about our ducted heating - put simply, the zoning doesn't work. They have sent the installation crew out a few times to re-check it and the bottom line is there's nothing they can do about it.
Fast forward to just recently and it just came to our attention that the ducted heating unit installed is rated 3 stars in terms of energy efficiency. We live in a 6 star energy rated estate and the developer has a standard inclusion requirement that all homes have a minimum of 4 star energy rated ducted heating gas unit installed. We always assumed our heating would be minimum of 4 stars.
Our specifications only quote the brand to be installed and the kilowatts of the system to be installed.
Any suggestions on what we do about this?
How would a builder even change the unit seeing as it's in the roof and the manhole is pretty small - is this even feasible?
