Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 13, 2010 7:47 am Hi, My cabinet-maker asked me yesterday if I wanted the basin centred in the vanity top or centred over the 2 cupboard doors (set of drawers to right of cupboards) If it was over the top of the doors, the basin would be further to the left. I just assumed centred in the middle would be normal.... but now I'm not sure and he is cutting them this afternoon. Help- I need to visualise it!!! Normally I have an incessent need to have things centred and symmetrical but ours aren't centered and I think it looks fine (well to me anyway). Not sure if it helps but here are some pics of ours: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Help- need pics of bathrooms!! 4Jul 13, 2010 9:42 am We have deep basins that are cut into the top, and also sets of drawers with 2 cupboards. Our basins needed to be off centre in light of this, otherwise you couldn't use the top drawer if they were placed in the centre. Looks fine to me! I like having the bench space to put 'stuff'! Yep agree Stormy totally makes sense! Wouldn't have thought of it at all!!! Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: Help- need pics of bathrooms!! 6Jul 13, 2010 1:40 pm Thanks guys for the pics!! Am still unsure what to do.... our basins are deep square inset ones and the cabinet-maker did mention he would have to take up some space from the top draw but he was ok about it even though apparently they would normally centre it above the cupboards. I suppose if I centred it above the cupboards I could put a vase or something on the right above the drawers but the kids would probably knock it down! I have an apothecary jar (with lid) in my powder room and the lid is blue tacked in place to stop it being knocked, and the whole jar is blue tacked to the bench and the mirror (you can't se it) and it hasn't budged!
