I thought people might find this interesting and any comments along the way are good, of course! However, please note that we haven't actually started talking to Henley beyond picking up their 'standard floor-plan variations' booklet for the Voyager. So we have no idea if they could or would build any of the mods we've come up with, or how much it might cost.
So, here is the original Voyager floorplan. I did a screengrab off their PDF downloadable from the Henley website to get this.

This house is for myself and my sister. I have twin daughters who are 16months old (I'm a single mum) so our household needs are non-standard. Specifically, my sister wants a study and bedroom at the front of the house so she can be a bit more separate, and I want several bedrooms close together at the back and kids playroom I can see from the kitchen.
Standard plan doesn't include a study, so here is modification idea number 1, shrinking the master bed and WIR and ENS to add a study and walk-in store.

It's a little cramped, and I didn't like guests having to tramp through the kids retreat to reach the loo, so I stretched the house a little and added a powder room in.

But then... sis says she liked the idea of a bath in the ens. Sis does like her baths! I fiddle and poke the plans but nup, can't fit that in AND a study modification without making the master suite kind of... small. Which is ok for my sis but not so great if we want to sell it down the track! Sooo... I go back to the Henley plans and drop in their standard Study option with a Grand Living and Grand Dining in place of the Dining and Family space - essentially, the dining/family space just gets lengthened by a few meters.

At this point, Sis finally has a chance to see the Voyager on display in person. She promptly informed me that a) there MUST be a door to the ens. and b) she really didn't approve of access to the WIR being *through* the ens. Hmmph. OK, here is a slightly modified plan. WIR is also made slightly shorter since the door to it would be by the side of the bed.

At last! Sis is happy with this variation.
Sooo, now I can move on playing with the layout of my bit of the house. Now, I'd love to have 4 bedrooms in the back section. I like my space. So lets put in the Voyager's standard 5bed option.

I contemplated this for a while and came back to the issue of the loo. I did not like it where it was! And the WC. had no room to add a little hand-wash thing either.
So, shuffle-shuffle-shuffle and we get this plan. Along the way, I shove the wall of the kids retreat up so you don't have to walk through it to the laundry (or garage), and I extend the island kitchen bench so it's end is in line with the end of fridge cubby.

A couple of complaints left - there is a straight line view from the family down into the laundry. Eh. And not enough storage! We always need more storage! So... this is the last plan... so far!

Whew. It has been an interesting exercise. Now I wonder how much extra they would want to charge us for all these changes...!
