Maybe this would solve your bedside lamp dilemma Erin? I have decided I LOVE this idea, and will be having these in our house (when we finally get around to building!). So, what do you think? We currently have these in our family and dining rooms, so they're definintely a style we LOVE http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac165/aaron4erin/lightsdiningDSC_0076.jpg http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac165/aaron4erin/lightsfamilyDSC_0078.jpg BUT being that we have this light in our bedroom... http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac165/aaron4erin/lightMasterbedroomDSC_1223.jpg We thought we'd get the single version of this, and hang it by chain over the bedsides... this is what the single one looks like: http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac165/aaron4erin/Madridsingle.jpg Alternatively IF we did put it on the wall, we could get this one... This? http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad198/miss_new_home_owner/SDC11657.jpg This is in our games room. pedro.lyn.josh All looks fantastic Erin nice room Mclaren Love it - it is so over the top but looks fantastic! The feature wall and art work go together so well. For side lamps I think something with similar glass to your pendant and a wrought iron base so long as it's not too big. Bet you can't wait to see your hubby's face tonight! Got the champagne ready? miss_new_home_owner Carpet looking great! Bed spread looking great! In fact whole room looking great! We haven't had bedside lamps since we've moved in to our house 8 months ago because we can't agree on bedside lamps that we BOTH like wakeboardandy carpet looks great... LeanneR Nice carpet! What's next on your list? flagstaffIV Yay!! It's a gorgeous colour! Another room done!! higherdestiny Awesome. Very awesome! Everything works together very well! Well done! JohnnyD Oh wow Erin another beautiful room & it ties in so well with the rest of your home. Love the new avatar too. . .bye, bye Aaron I bet he has a beer related one on his forum. Loretta themax Yes true, did think of that myself but thought I would throw the idea out there. My DH would have a fit if did that, I can't heven get him to put a little tack hole in the wall for a picture. Pinchy *sigh* soooo nice I like the idea of wall mounted lights too - if you decide to get a King size bed in a few years, it won't be a massive job to get a sparky to move them and just patch the wall - it will probably be due for a new coat of paint by then anyway thirsty Just beautiful Erin. You really are so motivated. It just ties in wonderfully together and the pic just sets it all off. Re: A & E's House! Pg 65: Master Bedroom reveal... with carp 1335Jan 17, 2011 2:29 pm Glad you like the idea! I definitely think that the light mounted on a chain from the ceiling looks much more modern than the lamps on the wall (just my 2 cents worth!). I'm sure you'll keep us posted with your decision! Re: A & E's House! Pg 65: Master Bedroom reveal... with carp 1336Jan 17, 2011 2:40 pm I think mounting from the ceiling would be more 'today' .....but then I thought does it really need to be 'today'? I think I much prefer the wall mounted when you look at the overall room and I think they work much better with the main light fitting....but that's just my opinion. I look forward to seeing what you decide! Re: A & E's House! I was voting for the 'today' look, but the style of the furniture and lighting Erin already has are classic and timeless, not contemporary, so I think you are right about the wall mounted lights. Sorry Erin, I've flipped to the other side! (Well, for your bedroom anyway, for mine I'll probably have the ceiling mounted pendants ) Re: A & E's House! But the seat won't be there to start with, it is where the cot/change table will be living for the first couple of years! Anyway enough hijacking of thread - your lights, I recommend wall ones - we are actually going to have in-ceiling speakers in some rooms, the ceiling would look a little bit busy with lights and speakers (and smoke detectors and whatever else!). I've had a look at my prospective builders reno of his own house, he has sort of rectangular wall lights in his bedroom, look great! Will try and find a pic to upload!
