Bricks are looking fantastic (sorry, will upload some pics when I get a chance!). The insulation is in, heating and cooling ducts, electrical rough-in done and plastering has started today It's going to look completely different now - YAY!! I can't wait to see what the kitchen will look like next! Lucky Easter is late this year Re: Sizz's Sahara - Devonia Park - PLASTER AWAAAY! 243Feb 11, 2011 9:34 am Wow, I'm still waiting for my heating ducts to go in and my site start was before your contract signing. At this rate you'll be in well before me. I'm glad your build is going well, I hope they keep it up. Re: Sizz's Sahara - Devonia Park - PLASTER AWAAAY! 245Feb 11, 2011 9:51 am hmmm...not yet. This week they have agreed to fix a majority of problems. These fixes should happen over the next 2 weeks, so I'll wait and see. We have all the wormy looking thingy's in the roof for now (hehe - thats tech builders talk right there!) Once they plaster the roof I guess they'll cut holes and pull them through.. Your's weren't installed before your roof got plastered?? I hope they HURRY UP and get you settled QUICK!!! Really, really hope everything is picking up, they better FIX THESE THINGS!! I don't want to move in before you Upon our little visit yesterday we saw the roof has been plastered in most rooms. Re: Sizz's Sahara - Devonia Park - PLASTER AWAAAY! 247Feb 11, 2011 9:59 am Our 'worms' were put in just after the roof tiles went on as well as the machine part of the heating. Maybe your's are hiding Janelle. Re: Sizz's Sahara - Devonia Park - PLASTER AWAAAY! 248Feb 11, 2011 10:31 am No worms for me yet. I queried why they weren't going in before the plaster went up. I get the same answer for everything, because they are a small builder they don't have access to things quickly from suppliers like the large volume builders. They are going to put the ducts and heater machine thing in at a later date. To get it in they will have to remove the roof tiles and go through the roof. Still don't have it yet though. We had ducted heating & cooling put in our current house and they didn't have any trouble doing it in an established house. Re: Sizz's Sahara - Devonia Park - PLASTER AWAAAY! 250Feb 11, 2011 11:04 am I understand things have to be done out of order, smaller builder etc, that's not a problem. It just really suprises me that Sizz and I are builder through the same builder therefore using the same suppliers and yet the supplier still hasn't been able to do my heater??? hmmmm I am glad Sizz isn't going through the same issues as I am. 45 days left on my contract. I can't wait for this to be over. DHTB and I can't understand these differences either! Did they mention if they'll have you settled before the 45 day period is up? Both yours and Catjims build has been going for (what feels like) ages! But maybe some of these houses that go up in a flash are quite unrealistic timeframes, on average. I'm touching every bit of wood around me right now hoping we're ALL able to move in ASAP! Re: Sizz's Sahara - Devonia Park - PLASTER AWAAAY! 252Feb 11, 2011 12:47 pm My SS mentioned on Tuesday that my PCI will be 24th Feb and that I would receive that in writing from the office. He also said he cannot make it to the PCI. I will have to do PCI on my own, along with my private building inspector and hand in the list of things I need fixed to the office. Handover approx 2 weeks later. There is still heaps of work to be done at my place so we will wait and see. I believe the treatment I am getting is very different to your experience because I've chosen to use a building inspector and I'm a single woman. I'm so glad I used the inspector though, money well spent. Just wandering are you going to get them to render the two tone areas near the alfresco? Or not fussed by it Re: Sizz's Sahara - Devonia Park - PLASTER AWAAAY! (PICS PG 255Feb 12, 2011 5:01 pm Thanks Barb! I'm not too fussed with the two tone. If it bothers us we'll just grow a creeping plant up the wall or something More plastering has been done. Still a fair bit to go. All we could do was peek through the windows Access DENIED for the 1st time!! Re: Sizz's Sahara - Devonia Park - PLASTER AWAAAY! (PICS PG 258Feb 15, 2011 9:33 pm That's great!! My SS had told us once the painting was finished then that was when he would have an idea of when the house might be finished, mind you, it became a joke, when everytime we asked he said about 5-6 weeks (you'd ask again a couple of weeks later and it would be 5-6 weeks) Re: Sizz's Sahara - Devonia Park - PLASTER AWAAAY! (PICS PG 259Mar 09, 2011 9:09 pm Drove past tonight Sizz and it's looking fantastic. What's happening on the inside? Re: Sizz's Sahara - Devonia Park - PLASTER AWAAAY! (PICS PG 260Mar 09, 2011 9:36 pm Hey, thanks Catjim! I've even VERY slack with the updates. Lots going on inside! Plastering finished, cornices, skirting boards, windows framed, doors framed and hung (and removed for painting). Laundry troth installed, & last we were there, there was plastic over all the windows ready for painting!! So painting will be this weeks highlight I think. Yet to see our kitchen and b/r cabinets arrive (after painting I assume). We recieved the FIX bill so just 1 installment to go till keys!!!! SS told us it's 6 weeks away last week. I hope so but won't get excited until he says a proper date...
