Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Lakeside Fibre To The Home (FTTP/FTTH) Discussion Thread 41Dec 20, 2010 7:43 am i got a cheap set of ears from bunnings so i didn’t miss the cricket. It makes sense having your router/wireless set-up in the garage and out of the way. it should just fit in the box. so the conduit sticking out of my wall is for future just in case? would have been good if the put into the actual box. i thought OPENnetworks put something over it anyway, here are a few pics of my set-up internal box and conduit Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Close up of internal wires and splitter Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ inside external box Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Lakeside Fibre To The Home (FTTP/FTTH) Discussion Thread 42Dec 20, 2010 8:33 am Hi bicko123, I noticed you had a UPS in your external box, was that standard by your builder or was that OPENnetworks that put that in? Re: Lakeside Fibre To The Home (FTTP/FTTH) Discussion Thread 43Dec 20, 2010 9:25 am OPENnetworks put that stuff in. whats a UPS do? is it the black or white bit? Re: Lakeside Fibre To The Home (FTTP/FTTH) Discussion Thread 44Dec 20, 2010 10:30 am bicko123 OPENnetworks put that stuff in. whats a UPS do? is it the black or white bit? The UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) is a battery backup when power is out. That is the black bit Re: Lakeside Fibre To The Home (FTTP/FTTH) Discussion Thread 45Dec 20, 2010 10:36 am very interesting pics there bicko, your setup is a little different than mine, not noticing any voice cabling either.. when you're provisioned (read: ring internode and get them to do it) then you take your router, configure it for PPPoE authentication and connect the "WAN" port of the router to your "DATA" port in the middle of your panel. Then the other 4 surrounding ports get patched in (via short cables) to your router's 1-4 ports. Bingo, online-ness CDandRB have built: Victory 1500 (Boardwalk) in Devonia Park, Pakenham. Bingo, online-ness Sweet. just googled PPPoE to figure out what it meant The little black cable from the telstra pit to the bow got installed yesterday. im assuming thats the fibre and we're set to go. I tried the TV to see if that works but no signal. not too sure if its supposed to have signal or not yet??? So Internode is the go... ill have to look into the packages. i wonder if it’s too close to xmas to get any connection??? Re: Lakeside Fibre To The Home (FTTP/FTTH) Discussion Thread 47Jan 19, 2011 11:17 pm OK!!! I have had enough of waiting for the Openetwork jokers to connect my house to the fibre system. It has been over a month since we moved in. I even got a personal phone call just before Christmas to let me know that the connection would happen on the 4th. This did not happen!!! I tried calling twice everyday only to get told that the person I was trying to contact was not available and he would return the call. Nothing. Now they are flooded!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m sure the guys that do the connections are not stuck in Qld too... It’s just bloody crazy. It should have been connected before the flood. No internet is no good, especially when my wife is trying to start a brand new business. Re: Lakeside Fibre To The Home (FTTP/FTTH) Discussion Thread 48Jan 21, 2011 8:52 pm Hi ...Finally got internet...turns out the cable guy that did our house just forgot to connect a few cables to the box in the garage...have been fighting with Openetworks and Internode for over 3 weeks. But it was BB fault..... So Sorry Ben, Jesse, Matt, Joel, Adam, ETC . and others from Internode. They have coped an ear full. .. anyhow we are now on internet ......Yipeeeeeeeee. I actually rang Delfin Centre at the lake...got a heap of help... fujitsu in Victoria is The tech support for Openetworks. I had to get Internode to raise a work order to get them to test all the fibre up to the house...With that checking out, The lovely tech fellow from Fujitsu found that we were not connect propertly in the house... Got fixed today... Very traumatic over the last month. So hang in there Bicko sure thing will work out. Re: Lakeside Fibre To The Home (FTTP/FTTH) Discussion Thread 49Jan 21, 2011 11:10 pm Great news for you Jabblo The guy was out today finishing of the fibre connection to the house. the only this is that Openetworks have not completed the actual connection to our part of the estate. how much longer do we need to wait. these guys are absolutely hopeless. all services 'should' be available when the land is settled. if only we had LD's in our land contracts. I emailed a Fujitsu tech, and he told me it was a third party outage, not Internode or Fujitsu and they have trouble accessing the site - probably cause of all the rain!! Re: Lakeside Fibre To The Home (FTTP/FTTH) Discussion Thread 55Feb 07, 2011 5:26 pm cdandrb bicko - why not? opennetworks related? or cbf related? Nope. All openetworks!!! I have been speaking a guy from delfin daily for the last few weeks trying to push it along. The problem was that our end of the estate was not connected yet. Pretty hopeless really. Anyway good news. We got connected today and I have only just tuned the tv in. IT WORKS Now to get onto internode.
