We've had a few false starts with our CSR, but being a 'pedantic b*stard' such as I am has come in handy. If there is a mistake, it will be brought to their attention, if its not addressed it will be brought to their bosses attention. Only needed to do it a couple of times for them to get the idea, mistakes will happen and the onus is really on us as its our money we're spending on it. Hopefully we'll get out site start this week. Belial, the Fairhaven23 looks like a nice floorplan as well. We just read your post and we r also building in Sandarra Congrats, it seems like the boring bits are almost over for you and the fun bits are soon to begin...can't wait to see the build progress pics... KatieK Hi Prawncraker, did u have to pay extra for wall insulation? Belial Can't speak for prawncracker, but no wall insulation is included as standard to meet the base 5 star rating, its only added if you specifically request it or if its required to meet 5 star for your specific site, either way you pay extra for it. Thanks belial, now all we need to do is to decide whether or not to pay that extra........ Thanks Katie, well hopefully all was quiet our there tonight, just hoping that the rain isn't too heavy tomorrow at this stage so we can finally see some movement, its been a long time coming. Always nice to have another Sandarran (is that a real word?) along, Which stage are you building in? Also in case you haven't seen it we hijacked Johno's thread early on, in what became the Sandarra general discussion thread, fair wack of discussion regarding clublinks, clubcom, developer etc etc http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=27978&start=0 Our Build - Places Fairhaven 23+ - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=28045 Our Landscaping - Belial's Backyard - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=45375 Re: Places Homes Glendale 28 27Jul 13, 2010 11:34 pm we paid a between 1500 and 2000 for our insulation...every internal wall (main area) has insulation in it and the theatre has the roof included...as for the other plans etc. we wanted the glendale as soon as we walked in...we were going to buy a pd home (sandhurst 30) but places had the better deals going and is better value for money...pd changes are upgrades and upgrades cost alot so we went with places instead.... our house is nearly at plastering but electricals have not been rectified yet...powerpoints have been missed, put in wrong places etc. have a meeting with our site supervisor in next couple of days anybody know who to call for fencing? Building with Places Homes - Glendale 23 (plus 2 square bonus). Stage 1j, Somerfield Estate, Keysborough. Sweet! Re: Places Homes Glendale 28 40Jul 29, 2010 10:43 pm they ripped the walls down and are hoping that we give them the photos we took of our house when they finished insulation so they can see where else they missed...we told them that they can pull all of the walls down for all we care, we paid for insulation and if that's what it takes, then that's what it takes...lol...tried being nice to them and they treated us like we were idiots so now we don't care.... they started putting random holes everywhere, and now they have to pull the plasterboards down and put new ones up...if it takes longer than the 20 week promise we're not too fussed as long as we know that they are giving us what we paid for....they cop the bill, not us....hopefully their mistakes will have been fixed by end of next week i would really like to see my kitchen go in...we were told that we could have the same cupboards as on display at Tarneit, they overhang at the bottom so there's no handles on them...they didn't realise that they are custom made cupboards and cost a **** to put in...should've thought about that before they promised us it...lol....i really liked it when I saw it though...they tried to tell us that it was not an option available to customers....we asked them why it was on display if it was not available...we also got starfire glass splashback included in our sale for free so that was a bonus as for the laundry, we cut the cupboard in half because there is enough cupboards in the house and we really don't need the space, also thought about lifting the bench up so we could fit a 10kg front loader under there, we ended up getting the candy apple red lg front loader washer and the matching dryer - the Formula 1 special edition ones - they look awesome and would tie in well with our colour selections....there's also an extra double powerpoint under the bench itself.... you should really take daily tours of your house and make sure you get what you paid for...we are onsite everyday and i tell you it has been well worth it...we picked up all the mistakes they have made...if you can, you should get an independant inspector and ask for all of the building compliant reports they conduct...as we are familiar with the building industry standards thanks to family owning building companies and having an HIA inspector in the family...if you can't get an HIA inspector you should constantly check your plans against the work happening on site to make sure everything is ok....
