I was reading a few days ago about how many posts you've done and haven't started building yet, and it gave me such a laugh, I look forward to following your build, has it started yet. I will read your thread but as you have 41 pages I might need a few hours, lol. Re: Better Late than Never-Our Fairhaven 9Jun 27, 2010 7:42 pm brb_654 Thanks Deemaree. My thread just seemed to take on a life of it's own-the range of topics which have come up has been astounding! I wouldn't have it any other way now! Love your pictures!! Good on you for putting the plan up, I love that Barwon plan. Love the ensuite layout, love the laundry tucked behind the kitchen, LOVE LOVE the entry to that house. Are you having the "cut out" between the entry and the living area? I just love the way they've done it in the display with the beautiful cut wood panels. Looking great so far!! ~ cheers, J _______________________________________________________________ We're a knockdown | rebuild ~ Melb SE burbs Building modified version of the Fairhaven Glenaire Homeone thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=28429 _______________________________________________________________ Re: Better Late than Never-Our Fairhaven 13Jun 27, 2010 9:14 pm Thanks Vanilla tree, Not doing the cut outs, we want to be able to mount a TV on that wall, so that would have created a problem. We also closed off the rumpus room and added a cavity door, so I don't have to hear all the noise I'm sure my kids will make. Like yourself, although it's not as big as The Glenaire, we have enclosed the Alfresco and turned it into a Lanai. It's looking amazing will post more photo's just not tonight as I had enough, lol. Re: Better Late than Never-Our Fairhaven 15Jun 27, 2010 11:05 pm Looking great! Love the idea of turning the alfresco into a lanai! If you don't me asking... how much did it cost to get it changed to a lanai? P.M me if you like. Cheers Pete. If you want a job done properly... Do it yourself! I pm you the cost. Re: Better Late than Never-Our Fairhaven - more pics 17Jun 28, 2010 10:12 am Well I have truck loads more photos to show(and many more to come). These are of our Alfresco which we have enclosed and Fairhaven call this the Lanai. It is yet to be tiled. http://i925.photobucket.com/albums/ad92/barbs68/house137.jpg http://i925.photobucket.com/albums/ad92/barbs68/house115.jpg Our sliding was damaged on arrival, we are still waiting for A and L to fix this. http://i925.photobucket.com/albums/ad92/barbs68/house140.jpg http://i925.photobucket.com/albums/ad92/barbs68/house117.jpg http://i925.photobucket.com/albums/ad92/barbs68/house116.jpg http://i925.photobucket.com/albums/ad92/barbs68/house114.jpg Looking out from the Kitchen. Re: Better Late than Never-Our Fairhaven 18Jun 28, 2010 11:33 am WOW brb_645 , colours look great, we are building the barwon as well, (barwon 374 is hubby) haha think we have chosen very simular colours!!!! Love your lanai, you have given me a great idea for ours lol. Cant wait to see more pics.. especially the tiles, we went with the same i think choc/latte, kitchen is the same as well i think but we went with a silver metalic splashback. Will post a pic of our colours on our thread soon, but from what you have described with your colours there very simular lol. Congrats on the build, looking great!!! YAY!!! Re: Better Late than Never-Our Fairhaven 19Jun 28, 2010 11:47 am Thanks Bellabelinda, Oh, Barwon 374 your hubby, ok all ties in now. Well it will be interesting to see how similar they are To be honest, I'm kind of stressing over the chocolate floor tiles, I'm second guessing my decision no turning back now just have to wait and see. Re: Better Late than Never-Our Fairhaven 20Jun 28, 2010 12:05 pm haha me to.. wish i had upgraded the tiles but too late now, we chose latte for the floor and choc on wall, with pebble strip in showers, white vinyl gloss cupoboards and hemp(latte) laminate tops...budget wouldnt allow stone for bathrooms Kitchen is turino stone top and white gloss doors with sliver splashback. the stressing of colours lol Im hoping it all looks good. That sucks! Hope it all works out. Good to move away from steel anyway for all your reasons, but it's also thermally poor. 16 17895 Like I said the Occupancy Certificate is not the tollgate that marks the completion of the house. The contract defines… 7 10761 We are looking to do a KDR with fairhaven homes, Have seen plenty of good reviews about them pre construction and plenty of negative reviews about them during contruction… 0 18046 |
