Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 23, 2010 9:33 pm Hi all, We are in the final stages of drafting our floor plans and have a problem. The best way to optimise on space in the kitchen/living/dining is to put the downstairs toilet backing onto the laundry. This means it won't have any natural light filtering into the powder room. Any thoughts on this? I know it's preferred to have natural light but wondering what everyone thinks??? Thanks PK Re: Bathroom Help Please! Floor Plan!! 2Jun 23, 2010 9:37 pm I think it's not unusual. I think from the plans that I have seen that it would be more unusual to have a powder room with natural light than without. IMO natural light is ALWAYS preferable, but this certainly wouldn't be weird or anything. Most double storeys that I have seen sneak the powder room somewhere in around the stairwell (which is often in the middle of the house - so no natural light). Re: Bathroom Help Please! Floor Plan!! 3Jun 23, 2010 9:47 pm I agree with somewoman. I won't have any natural light in my powder room either (double storey over here too). Re: Bathroom Help Please! Floor Plan!! 4Jun 23, 2010 9:54 pm Same here... not unusual at all.
