Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 21, 2007 12:11 pm Hi, Just after some help. The owner of the block next door has dumped dirt on their block but has encroached onto ours by about 2 meters. The problem is i cannot find out who the owner is due to privacy and the block is vacant. The developer has tried for the last 2 weeks to no avail, we are trying to settle our land a week early (this coming Tuesday) but the block needs to be re-surveyed as there are some pegs missing but can't do this with the dirt over the boundary line.
Any ideas how to move this dirt (apart then myself with a shovel) and how i can contact the owner. Thanks Adam Re: Next door dumping dirt on our block 4Oct 21, 2007 1:48 pm For $48 in NSW you can apply to council to get names of owners of addresses, you’re paying to get into the privacy act.
Ring your council again and enquire on this service. Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Next door dumping dirt on our block 5Oct 21, 2007 2:06 pm This might be cheaper?

The easiest option is to call council and complain on a dirt. They will get him for that and give you also the name and address of the owner. cheers kate Re: Next door dumping dirt on our block 7Oct 21, 2007 4:16 pm Adam,
I see 2 options. 1/ Get in there with a shovel as previously suggested. 2/ Go there on Monday and hope the builders of the other block are there and ask them politely to move the dirt. (take a shovel just in case) Either way if you want it moved by tuesday you will probably need to muck in yourself. Re: Next door dumping dirt on our block 8Oct 21, 2007 5:47 pm don't some companies pay for soil? you could get someone to take it away and make a profit Re: Next door dumping dirt on our block 10Oct 21, 2007 6:05 pm Hi Adam,
Same thing happened to us... only difference is, 2 of our neighbours (at our side) were building (we are at the corner, the one at the back was already finished building) at that time. we rang the council to inform them that our neighbours had been using our block for temporary storage of their construction supplies and there were lots of rubbish on our block. unfortunately, council took 4 months to inspect the block and it was too late, as the two houses were already finished by that time. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! If anyone wnats to know what happened to it just say you took what was on your side of the fence....
If it isn't good soil shovel it back to his property.... I wouldnt worry to much about the dirt as posters on here have said just get a shovel and move it. Think you would need to worry when people start using your block as a dumping ground for hard waste( old dirty mattress ect) which i have recently spotted on a vacant block of land a few blocks down from mine .. now i reckon the owners of that block are going to be quite mad . thats just plan rude to dump your rubbish on someones elses block when you can pay to dumped it yourself .We have houses being constructed either side of us and builders have made abit of a mess of our block . We have complained and have been told they will clear it when our house begins, helps though when they are the same builder that will be building ours. Re: Next door dumping dirt on our block 13Oct 22, 2007 1:03 pm Hi everyone,
Thank you all for you replies, after some suggestions and a couple of beers in the arvo i thought i will go for a walk with my wheelbarrow and shovel and give it a go myself, the clay in Pakenham is like concrete so i gave that a miss and went home, more beer (much more fun) The developer called me first thing this morning to say the dirt would be moved in a couple of days and they would have the survey done by tomorrow as not to hold up settlement. . After that i called the conveyancer and she told me the bank was not quite ready yet and settlement of the land would be more like Thursday or Friday bloody bank, i am sure if they were waiting on a payment they would be ready . oh well official settlement is 1st November so Delfin wont hit us with any late fees. Adam i imagine you also have another contract with an architect? and yeah, whatever other's said about special conditions and appendices 16 16025 Hi all I am looking to run a water line under my concrete footpath which is directly next to my home, was seeing if this is possible without cutting the entire section… 0 20188 Did you know that you can get rugs made from carpet?
