Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 21, 2010 1:58 pm I'm building a home with Dreamstart Homes in Wellard(The Village). Has any one built with these guys? I originally signed up with the Home Buyers Centre, but after several problems and outrageous cost, I decided to go else where(lost a bit of my deposit but it was worth it). I did alot of looking around and getting quotes but Dreamstart seemed to be ofering the best deal.I went with there Dream series 180 home which has all the extras ie; tilling to all areas except bedrooms and theatre , bedrooms/theatre have carpet. tilling to ensuite/bathroom,doors to robs and glass doors to showers, blinds, 900mm cooking app ect. I did a lot of changes to0the plans like make the master bedroom larger with walk in his/hers robs and larger ensuite. moved gargage to the rear of the property becase I'm on a corner with a laneway, and connect it to the house by a 6mtx6mt alfresco. Any how if any one out there can tell me about there experience with Dreamstart that would be great. I'm going to be doing my pre-start in a week or so they've told me, so i'm doing all my colour selections at the moment. Re: BUILDING A DREAMSTART HOME IN WELLARD 3Jun 24, 2010 11:25 am It was a number of things, All I'll say is there are much better builders then HBC. What I should of done in the beginning was look at several buiilders, but I went straight to HBC and had no real idea of what was good value and quality. Once I cancelled my contract with HBC I looked at about 10 different builders got plans and quotes from about 6 and then hagled them for the best deal, Don't be affraid to play them against each other after all it's your money, also be careful some will say they wount compete cause there houses are a better quality ect, DreamStart are better built home with more inclusions(depending on if you want most of the internal done).Dreamstart is a part of * Homes( I did look at Content as well but the sales man wasn't the most enthusiastic guy and from what i wanted to what was drawn up didn't match). Also be careful alot of these building companies I've heard are quit dificult to comunicate with once you've signed contracts. I signed my prelim contract 2 weeks ago and I got my plans yesterday and will be booking prestart today for the coming week. Between this time they contacted me and told me where they where at ie draughting finished got approval from Estate. We already paid for somfy motors for the blinds. The quote above was purely for “pre-wiring” so the blinds company can install the motors and blinds. That’s why we… 5 8016 go upvc window frames ensure insulation under colorbond. not just sarking, lighter color roof also not sure if you have seen this viewtopic.php?t=5823 last couple of pages… 4 98095 |
