Browse Forums Building A New House Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 501Aug 17, 2011 10:57 am Checked with the SS, he's aware of it and said it was all OK, so I guess they were just taken down for painting. Seems like a long way to do it, but at least they weren't nicked! Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 502Aug 17, 2011 11:35 am weird that they didnt paint them before they installed them in the 1st place? Are they colourbond? Oh well at least he's onto it and all is well.countdown begins Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 505Aug 23, 2011 9:35 pm One week until walk through, cleaners have started in there today - kitchen is nice and clean now - but no sign of the garage doors yet.. They should appear sometime this week hopefully! A few minor things to do, eaves need to be finished, some silicon around the tiles etc, and then just the standard handover-day things - water heater, spa pump, aircon etc. We've settled on the retaining, next door wouldn't budge on 70/30 and I can see if from their perspective though, so we've just gone with that. Paving, Fencing, Concreting (driveway), Stormwater, Flooring and Curtains all need to be done, we've lined up a tradie to do the outdoor stuff (very reasonable quote considering all the work!) and will jump on getting the flooring done ASAP after Handover. Not long left now.. Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 506Aug 24, 2011 10:23 am With the retaining things could be worse. I've seen in a Golden Grove forum that their moss rocks supplied by Realtysa that retain the property are beginning to shift... yikes!!! Its amazing how all these extras add up. Good luck with the walk thru not long now. Bet this will be one of the slowest weeks of your life.... Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 507Aug 26, 2011 9:45 am Went and had a look last night, cleaners are done, but the painters have left a lot of stuff behind and I noticed a couple of spots the missed. We also have eaves, but they still need paint, so that's probably why the painters gear is still there. Garage doors haven't re-appeared as yet, and our stair handrails inside have disappeared too; but they're probably in a cupboard for now. We also have a pipe in the kitchen that's either in the wrong place or done wrong as it's stopping one of the drawers from closing.. Retaining walls starting on Tuesday/Wednesday next week with fences not far behind (I hope!). All set for walk through on Tuesday, but already got a list of little things to check before handover is completed Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 510Aug 31, 2011 12:28 pm 1stBuildFR all come up roses? Did indeed. A few minor things to touch up and finish off, nothing too unexpected - Only problem was the mirrors weren't installed because of one small mixup with another Fairmont place in the street. No real issue though! Handover boooked for Tuesday, flooring going in on Wednesday and Thursday! If only getting window coverings was that quick, but they say it's a MONTH from date of measurement, and they can't do that until after handover So, we might have to put in something temporary for a month in the front rooms - I'd be happy to live with that until the real window coverings are ready Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 511Aug 31, 2011 12:42 pm Wow window coverings. You're a bit lucky. We think that'll be one of the last things we can afford. Probably just going to get some white timber venitians from Spotlight, then bandsaw them to size. And have them in the front windows until we can afford better window coverings. Having a few screw holes in the window frames on the front doesnt botter me, as we are getting plantation shutters eventually. Glad to here everything went well. Went for a drive past last night. Your roller door re-appearing any time soon? Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 513Aug 31, 2011 3:35 pm Glad everything went well for you. Drove past yesterday and you still didnt have roller doors. where are they? Have they appeared yet? Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 514Aug 31, 2011 3:39 pm newbuilder1 Glad everything went well for you. Drove past yesterday and you still didnt have roller doors. where are they? Have they appeared yet? They were actually installed too early, and Brett asked the contractors to take them down and off-site while painting was happening - they'll be back this week Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 515Sep 02, 2011 1:57 pm Isnt this against the contract for Field River Estate? http://www.realestate.com.au/property-r ... rk-2898601 I thought we were only aloud to sell back to RealtySA if we didnt want to build on it anymore? Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 517Sep 02, 2011 2:10 pm Well I only thought of it, from the aspect, someone could have bought it and sat on it, as an investment. Like I was looking at a few blocks that came up available from fall overs. Don't have the money to build on it yet. But would have been good to get my hands on a block and sit on it for 3-4 years and then build on it. Etc etc etc. Ohhh well. Just dreaming..... Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 518Sep 02, 2011 2:11 pm Poor Newbuilder1 still has a lengthy wait for a neighbour on that side now Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 519Sep 02, 2011 2:25 pm Damn!!! i want to get fences up too but now its going to cost us more as have no neighbours to split it with. Also Vortex, saw your doors being installed yesterday. Yay Re: [SA] Building in Field River Estate, Trott Park 520Sep 02, 2011 2:27 pm If there is people who own the block, regardless of weather they have a house on it, I would have expected you could still split the fence costs. Thanks for the heads up on the doors, I can't want to get down there on the weekend to see them again |
