Now feel free to ignore everything i have to say because I don't know how building company's work nor have i built, (but i'm sure lots of others do), but you say that the inspector gave it the ok. Is the inspector responsible for signing off this stage of the build from a completion / safety etc point of view? If thats his role then i would think that a crack in the sill doesn't matter to him to be able to sign if off. It isn't structurely a problem, or going to cause a problem to the window. But for you it matters because someone has to make this crack disappear. So someone has to either putty and sand it etc so that when its painted you'll never know it was there or an architrave will cover a lot of it. So I think i'd be interested in asking your supervisor what it will look like when its all finished and then if he says you will still see the crack, then go from there, if he says it will get patched at a later stage, then at least you know ok people with experience...what's your view Re: Should this bother me? 3Jun 17, 2010 8:32 pm Thanks Little Buddy, Every pic in the post represents a window.so I guess,in total there are 4 windows with the cracks in it.I am waiting for the Building supervisor to get back to me.He had said he would call back today after I objected him not responding to my queries.Still no call. Will have to remind him again tommorrow.Hate builders Re: Should this bother me? 4Jun 17, 2010 9:01 pm Don't stress. these things can be fixed. Just see what he has in mind first. you might find that he knows that it will be fixed later on. And if his answer satisfies you then all is good. Let him give you his plans / thoughts first Re: Should this bother me? 6Jun 17, 2010 9:32 pm It would "bother" me certainly, as any imperfection in my new house does, but not enough to get mad about or demand a window replacement, no way. Re: Should this bother me? 7Jun 18, 2010 4:33 pm finally got hold of the builder. He said that the carpenter would be coming in after the insulaton. He would have a look at it and decide if that can be fixed,or else they wil replace the whole wooden frame.Thats some relief i imagine you also have another contract with an architect? and yeah, whatever other's said about special conditions and appendices 16 15822 hey there! 😊 so, it’s kinda common for standard drawer depths to be around 500mm since most cabinets use this size to fit the usual runners… 3 20857 I've decided, after a period of confusion (my building broker told me it's probably not worth it to use a lawyer, but others have said it is a must) that I definitely will… 7 27906 |
