My site supervisor left me a message today saying the plumbing commission had visited the site and said I needed an RPZ installed, something to do with the tank water flushing the toilets, and being connected to the estate recycled water. I called the plumbing commission who said an RPZ is a "backwater flow device" and the builders plumber should know what it is. I look up RPZ valves on the 'net, and they're like $1200! Er, what? I'd have thought if this was legally required then it would have been included. I suspect it's because my (default) house plan has a water tank connected to the toilets, and at the same time the estate recycled water is supposed to flush the toilets...
