The official recommendation contained within the Transport for NSW Consultation document clearly states that the corridor crosses 'underneath' Dan Cleary Drive and enters Harrington Park north (the existing Harrington Park suburb). Oran Park is low, Wildfire is elevated, Narellan is low. Some complex engineering would be required to get a train to climb uphill! so it would be easier to place it underground. They would also avoid or minimize land aquisition at all costs. The cost of aquiring the whole of Wildfire would be in the order of about $50 million (market value for 98 lots), budget that I'm sure they'd rather spend on the project itself . In addition, looking at the aerial: they are trying to restrict the corridor mainly to where there is open space. The corridor totally missed Laurina and Michelia. And don't forget about Harrington Forest. It was a condition of the Harrington Grove development that it remains protected, never to be touched. The trainline is inevitable, it will go ahead because the area needs it. Ideally, it would be best if the entire corridor between Oran Park and Narellan is located underground (reiterating what Crewie and other previous have stated). Re: Who is building at Harrington Grove? 863Jun 11, 2015 9:24 am Zebrah and Crewie thanks for stating the obvious with a train line through Oranpark to Narrallan above ground, I went to see developers at HG late yesterday and we looked at the map showing the terrain and slopes etc fom Oranpark to Northern rd and they explained how it will can't be above, they would have to recreate the entire Harrington Forrest not to mention many other aspects such as endangered species that survive their. Re: Who is building at Harrington Grove? 864Jun 11, 2015 3:33 pm mrpatto This is all very interesting and I'm so sorry for all those who maybe affected. Being in Magnolia I would think we will be safe. In saying that I'm still not happy, while people think values increase and they do train lines also bring the **** with them. More break and enters and more crime. I don't want to be paying a premium to share the area with those types! Thank you for your thoughts mrpatto, you understand what can possibly happen. Unfortunately if some how this above line goes ahead the entire HG will no longer be the same again,we in wildfire would get compensated and will move on, with respect to Harrington park residents HG will soon be an extended Harring park down the track for the reason, trains moving 24 hours through Harrington grove Forrest.Every one in HG must be aware if this is to happen.cheers. Re: Who is building at Harrington Grove? 866Jun 11, 2015 5:06 pm I hope no one is worrying too much about this rail line or considering selling their block because of it. As you said: gordan estate 1 Zebrah and Crewie thanks for stating the obvious There is no way this line will be above ground. The only thing that's going to happen is our land values will rise and we'll have great access to public transport. You won't hear or feel a thing with the train below ground, you won't even feel it when they're tunneling. Re: Who is building at Harrington Grove? 869Jun 11, 2015 8:10 pm Hi guys, I've just read all the posts from the first post 3 years ago or so. Ive loved this area and now moreso seeing some pics that some members have taken and feeling the excitement as you all have gone through the land purchase through to colour scheme and landscaping. Is the last release the one that backs onto The Lanes, Kirkham. Or is that yet to be released. The master plan has all the names you mention such as wildfire and magnolia. But did not see a name for the proposed lots directly next to The Lanes. I wouldn't worry about to much impact to residents regarding the new rail line. I really think the impact will be minimal if any. The impact will be positive for HG. I am keen in purchasing in HG Gus Re: Who is building at Harrington Grove? 870Jun 11, 2015 8:12 pm Hi guys, I've just read all the posts from the first post 3 years ago or so. Looking good, great choice of bricks. Jeez it's come along way from your first post. How long ago was that, August 2014. Congrats, you'll be in before you know. Coming down on the weekend.
