Dear Members,
I am a first home buyer. Was looking around for a builder, house & land package, came to meet Homebuyers Centre. Since they are new in VIC, not getting enough feedback. Anybody here dealing with them please share their experience.

Re: Anybody dealing with Homebuyers Centre 2Jun 15, 2010 12:41 pm Hello there, yes we are building with HBC, they are only new in Victoria but they have been going for a while over in WA - Also you will notice that their display homes are always next to Boutique Homes which is the same company. We saw them by chance in Mernda Villages and liked their design and have gone ahead with them. We are finally getting to site start date around 15th July. It has been a long process, but mainly us waiting for land to title. People are good to deal with. Hope this helps Site Start: 10th September, 2010 PCI : Friday 27th January, 2011. The only thing i can fault them on is what they include in "standard" specs. eg. doors on wardrobes, garage doors, driveway paving etc. were not included. One of our friends is a contract bricklayer for them in perth and he said they are VERY fussy on their brick work inspections. Re: Anybody dealing with Homebuyers Centre 5Jun 15, 2010 3:27 pm we are building with HBC in WA at the moment... cannot fault them. The tradies are all in straight after each other, no waiting in between. All the work so far has been fantastic. We are almost at completion stage, just need to get carpets and blinds in. The only thing to be aware of is that they supply blinds, carpet etc, but the carpet is very cheap, no underlay so you might want to consider upgrading that. As for us, we are very happy customers!! Re: Anybody dealing with Homebuyers Centre 6Jun 15, 2010 3:51 pm Jaye_Jol The only thing i can fault them on is what they include in "standard" specs. eg. doors on wardrobes, garage doors, driveway paving etc. were not included. The reason they do this is because they target first homebuyers who don't necessarily have the capability to take out a higher loan, so they trim down the package to as small as they can get it without making you live in a concrete shell. Of course you're more than welcome to add those features back on when you firm up your plans - we put doors on the wardrobes, screens on the showers, upgraded to a garage from carport, included the shire crossover paving and a few other items. Added about 10 grand all up to the house with all the additions we made pre-contract plus another 10 grand post-contract in upgrading to tiling and better carpets. I can see the logic in that someone else might not have wanted to add that 20 grand onto their loan and I think HBC are doing a good service by allowing people to start with a basic low-cost package. Of course I'm in WA where HBC started - they are fairly new (I think about a year) in vic so they may still be finding their feet over there and whilst I can't fault the service they've given us over here I couldn't comment on whether that would translate to an equally high level of service in Victoria. Re: Anybody dealing with Homebuyers Centre 7Jun 15, 2010 7:28 pm Things must be different in WA - all their homes here in Vic come with doors to robes, garage door etc. I have seen this on other peoples posts and thought it extraordinary that Companies can get away with selling homes with wardrobes (less the doors) or even think of including a Garage (but not including the door). Weird - rest assured here in Vic these things are included, but of course you have to check the Spec Sheet they give you when you visit the display home and then if you go ahead to check you Addenda's etc to make sure all is included in the Contract.
