Some brickies add the foam strips as they brick, but others don't and it gets shoved in at the end. Either is apparently fine (I looked it up when our brickwork was done). Then the goopey stuff goes in.... so the method isn't a problem, but the quality of the brickwork might be a whole other thing. One of our AJs was appalling - definitely NOT within tolerances: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The bricks around it had to be ripped down and redone weeks later, so it certainly can be done if the gap is outside normal tolerances.
