They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience. Re: CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENTS 23Oct 18, 2007 12:09 pm Now, now boys, take a breather. ![]() I'm sure any "unethical builders" will not last long in an industry where there are plenty of competitors and also customers looking to get a good deal... Plus there is our fantastic Homeone forum to provide a soapbox to stand on and shout for all to hear- the good, the bad and the just plain ugly! Re: CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENTS 24Oct 18, 2007 12:15 pm ![]() Clarendon are one of my "unethical builder friends" So you agree with me. Good. Case closed. They most certainly do... They just change the business practise. ![]() Re: CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENTS 28Oct 18, 2007 1:59 pm I didn't know that?Hmmmm.
I do know that some "H" mgmt left and created Carlisle homes though. Re: CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENTS 29Oct 18, 2007 2:02 pm This is new ... we didn't have to do this and we have just finished building with H. We had a few ups and downs but in the end an independant building inspector said it was a pretty good job. Re: CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENTS 30Oct 18, 2007 2:04 pm i'm interested too Matt Never argue with an idiot!!!! They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience. As did some PD staff ![]() Re: CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENTS 32Oct 18, 2007 2:08 pm Look i am just about to build with "H" (plans sent for building approval) and must say i have had no real issues that would not happen with any other builder...
Our contact and communication with the company as a whole has been excellent and we envisage it will continue to be so. We will be on top of our building project double checking everything.. The issue that French-gal brought up recently about morter, we have noticed at another home too, but we will make sure that we keep an eye out for it with our place. Also mention it to our super so that he is aware of it too. I think it is all about communication and working together to achieve the best possible result (with some give and take) ... But then, ask me again in 5-6 months and hopefully i will still be a happy camper..... ![]() Re: CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENTS 33Oct 18, 2007 2:10 pm Matt what can i say, the building industry is another incestuous business.
The staff etc. will stay within the industry, when they do move. Re: CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENTS 34Oct 18, 2007 2:12 pm It's funny, even AV Jennings who was massive all those years ago, died and was re-born, but in a smaller scale...
Must be careful, they are our estate developer.... ![]() Re: CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENTS 35Oct 18, 2007 3:23 pm The only real advice I can say (we also built in Berwick in the chase too) is WATCH EVERYTHING
and don't be afraid to get in trouble for being on site. I lost count of the times we were told not be go look/be there. If you are there you see problems. We didn't really have too many problems until lock-up..Then it was mainly the tiler.... feature tiles at differing levels in ensuite, kitchen splashback and laundry laid stacked instead of brickwork. We found the things that slowed us up were our upgrades. Its almost like they are not used to doing many upgrades. Don't even get me started on our kitchen doors problems as these are still on-going. We are sort of happy with the final job . Some things still annoy us. ie the not so straight/level horizontal handles but apparently they will not be fixed as within 5 mm. But hay I reckon straight and level should be straight and level.... guess not. Good luck. Stand your ground and try and build a great relationship with Customer service person as they can really help eseclate problems for you if supervise will not help.
