It makes everyone aware that you ARE watching and you WILL be checking that things are up to scratch - providing you don't make a nuisance of yourself in doing so =) This is a very important point. Our SS and CLO know we go to our site to check up on things and they also encourage it. Re: How do you stop yourself from visiting daily? 24Jun 11, 2010 4:55 pm lol , I generally work in the area we are building, so in between shifts i drive past... probably 3 or 4 times a day!! hehe i love it, its so exciting to drive by and see someone there, especially now its locked up, gives me a chance to go inside and explore, but then you do get dissapointed when you drive by and nothing is happening. Goodness only knows what we will be like when they actually start building!! Do you reckon the builders would mind if I pitched a tent on the block???? Re: How do you stop yourself from visiting daily? 32Jun 15, 2010 11:22 am heya brb, I can only get inside if the tradie is there. So thats why i go past several times a day. Just have to hope you get there at the right time, so you can get in. Its very exciting. We are in the process of getting the tiling done. What stage are you up to? Re: How do you stop yourself from visiting daily? 33Jun 15, 2010 1:50 pm Hi Sparkles Yeah, that's how I've been getting in too, not too often, don't want to annoy the tradies. You are one step ahead of us, we have the painter in at the moment, no tiles as yet, but hanging out to see what it looks like with the tiles. brb Re: How do you stop yourself from visiting daily? 34Jun 15, 2010 3:37 pm I say the don't stop visiting. I live on the property where my house is getting built and I'm glad that I do as the builder has had to be stopped because of all the errors he is making. Big errors in fact. My house is known as the bent house on the hill which at this stage can not be finished due to the mistakes the builder has made. MY HOUSE IS NOT SQUARE, NOT ONE ROOM OR EXTERNAL WALLS. So angry!!!! Had to have an independant surveyor down to check it out. So my suggestions are watch them very carefully.... The DIY project can be broken into two major steps. Planning and Design and Construction.
