Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 10, 2010 5:40 pm all our skirts and doors were delivered today, and Im wondering for those who built with M, did they put the kitchen cabinets etc in first or the skirts and doors and stuff first. The plaster stage SUX, cos even though they are doing stuff (bog, sand, bog, sand) it looks the SAME!! Re: M3tr1c0n*** skirts/arcs/doors first or cabinetry?? 2Jun 10, 2010 11:33 pm Think we had kitchen & vanities etc in first, then doors, then skirting/architraves. Doesn't make much difference what order it goes it (though doors have to go in before arcs of course) T&T Knockdown and rebuild - building Metr1con Nolan 41 (43) @ http://tim-and-tina.blogspot.com! http://www.verdantdental.com.au Re: M3tr1c0n*** skirts/arcs/doors first or cabinetry?? 3Jun 13, 2010 11:05 pm Same here ... they been doing everything wrong they started the plasters stage before bricking and now bricking is not completed and they have put cabinets bench tops and other things also new site manager n csc getting every month a and for 1 month they haven't done anything i am soooo Re: M3tr1c0n*** skirts/arcs/doors first or cabinetry?? 4Jun 14, 2010 10:10 pm Bricking at our place has been going on for about 1 month. I don't know how M3tr1c0n can get their ordering wrong. Our roof tiles were short, they had to order another 2 pallets and now waiting for more bricks to complete the lock up stage. Since it has been raining in Melbourne, our roof is not sealed and already wall insulation is in and getting WET!! Got a call from our site manager saying plaster will commence this week over wet wall insulations since roof is not fully sealed. Also, plaster boards and corners were delivered and getting wet. Site doesn't look good at the moment. Called our site manager to tell him about the corners and plaster sheets getting wet and in reply "we ordered more than enough corners and plaster sheets." I don't think M3tr1c0n wastes money on over ordering. They can over charge us for upgrading and give us peanuts when we remove items. We are just hoping they seal the roof, complete the brick work before we head further into the colder months. At least, building MATERIALS are not getting wet!! ---------------- upgraders Bel-Air 37 : Contemporary Fascade (Major Interior Makeover) Hi Stuey, think you’ve got a couple of options here you’d just need to decide your preference/which options suits best.
