Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Any experiences with Firstyle homes 322Aug 25, 2017 4:14 pm Hey @MKRL S Your SS should have given you a call to introduce themselves to you prior to construction commencing/slab being poured. Ours did that and he was happy to give us his contact details and talk to us directly rather than through FS (although we're not building in Oran) I'd say get in touch with your Construction Co-ordinator at FS to get their details Re: Any experiences with Firstyle homes 323Aug 25, 2017 4:17 pm Been calling construction coordinator. .hasn't worked so far. Never heard from supervisor. Already made 2 progress payments. Now due for a site meeting. So have called firstyle and left messages for supervisor to call. Hasn't happened yet Re: Any experiences with Firstyle homes 324Sep 07, 2017 6:07 am head office never return emails or calls.so unprofessional.to those thinking of going with firstyle,id think again.so far all they have done is break promises and never return calls or emails.if the CEO monitors this, you need better people at head office.ive already told my friends not to build with Firstyle cos of how little communication there is. Re: Any experiences with Firstyle homes 326Sep 09, 2017 3:03 pm MKRL S - glad to hear they have made contact .. when you spending so much money you want to be sure things are progress to plan and at the quality you expect. Re: Any experiences with Firstyle homes 328Sep 15, 2017 3:10 pm Has anyone selected a hills hub or similar installation in the garage at their electrical appointment? If so what sort of cost am I looking at. Re: Any experiences with Firstyle homes 329Sep 22, 2017 6:40 am Just giving you an update. Were pulling our tender from Firstyle.Getting over no contact so we are going over to Eden Brae.Wishing you all good luck with your builds. For any new customers,go ANYWHERE else. DONT go with Firstyle.Dont waste your time or your money. And if Firstyle employees see this, head office needs to get their act together and return peoples emails n calls.Youve lost our business. Were taking our $550k to a company who actually seems to work and want to help their customers. Good luck everyone else. Re: Any experiences with Firstyle homes 330Sep 26, 2017 2:22 pm Firstyle is making processes delay for everything and Firstyle charge us for delay. Really frustrating... We paid initial deposit in February and has asked for changes since march still we don't have final drawing. We are really frustrated with VERY VERY VERY SLOW process. And NOW FIRSTYLE IS ASKING US TO PAY FOR LATE PROCESS!!! We chase them every time. Every time it takes at around 6- 7 weeks for pricing or drawing and when we receive any update from firstyle many changes are missing so we have to go through whole process again, and wait for another 6 - 7 weeks. Phone never get answered. We were really frustrated with slow process so When we were at sales office and asked why it is taking so long to get even costing we were told because of less staff it is getting delayed. Firstyle never mentioned ( not even once) that we have to pay for late process even when we were desperate to get updates and chased so many times . Before that we were asked to pay $2900 to move house as same as we signed in contract and tender. still we agree to pay as we have invested so much time and money. Has anyone been in situation like this? Please advise what can we do? Re: Any experiences with Firstyle homes 332Sep 30, 2017 3:08 pm I haven’t had electrical appointment yet. Yes you should receive a breakdown price however hills home hub is not a Clipsal product that why I was asking, also does a downlight provision mean that you will receive a lighting socket outlet to plug your future downlight into?? Have been to clipsal but no one asked us at appt about hdu. I'm hoping it's covered by wiring package that i paid fs but not so sure now ...and if covered it would be clipsal brand. Re. Downlight provision. will be wired with batten holder that you can get replace for downlight later. Re: Any experiences with Firstyle homes 334Oct 02, 2017 11:57 am How did you find the Clipsal appointment? Did they give you a good range of down lights and other options for power points ect? Will cost if changes once left clipsal building . ..need to get it right first time. All clipsal Power and light switches to choose from. ..off course upgrade from standard will cost extra. Thanks we will keep that in mind we are now progressing to head office stage so hopefully by late this year Clipsal stuff will get done Re: Any experiences with Firstyle homes 338Oct 23, 2017 10:41 am Hey all, I was just wondering about the process for getting the house financed. Our Mortgage Broker has asked us to get the final building contract for our bank (we are still at tender stage but land has now registered). I spoke to my SC, and he said that colour choices come after the final building contract. I worry that our colour / electrical changes will not be included in the building mortgage. is this the case in your experiences? Cheers, Brendan Re: Any experiences with Firstyle homes 339Oct 23, 2017 10:45 am BrendanH Hey all, I was just wondering about the process for getting the house financed. Cheers, Brendan Hi Brendan, Our colours and Clipsal appointment were well before the final building contract was issued. The building contract will list the base cost of your build only though and not include the cost of any variation upgrades you do through colours appointment & Clipsal.
