Meanwhile I think it's just the concrete they put in. But I might be wrong. WC ...... Re: Any experiences with Firstyle homes 62Feb 01, 2011 8:55 pm Hi, Building with Firstyle at Mt Annan, has anyone had quoting issues with the tiles? I mean, in having them laid. I have been quoted $450 direct from tiler to lay approx 1 square metre of tiling in a kitchen splashback? Re: Any experiences with Firstyle homes 63Feb 03, 2011 8:12 am vidushak Thanks sam, Just a question on piering. After they drill the holes are the concrete columns reinforced with steel or is it just the concrete that is poured in the holes. There is only Concrete poured in the piers Regards Sam R Re: Any experiences with Firstyle homes 64Feb 03, 2011 8:14 am thistle Hi, Building with Firstyle at Mt Annan, has anyone had quoting issues with the tiles? Would they start before 20 days?? Hi Pride, We paid our initial deposit in December, 2009. Signed papers on June 25, 2010. We are building single storey Schofield 27 and are still waiting for our house to be completed. Kitchen just put in and cannot get a date for completion as yet. Hoping yours is done quickly thistle Re: Any experiences with Firstyle homes 71Feb 09, 2011 1:40 pm It looks like they have sped up the pace since start of this year (or they were super slow last year) We have gyprock finished, wet areas sealed, garage door installed and few other things done. Hope they keep going like this...for a while....atleast. Pride...Our slab was layed July 2010 and we signed all paperwork in May 2010 (part of delay was due to bad weather). From my experience, they work in fits and starts. I am about to ge quieter days. WC ...... Re: Any experiences with Firstyle homes 72Feb 15, 2011 3:24 pm Thanks Thistle and WinfieldCharcoal. They are very slow I agree, hopefully they will pick up some pace. They were pretty good with council. We paid our initial deposit and got our quote in April 2010. Signed papers and moved to construction only in Jan signed papers on 21/01/2011. Some delay was due to survey that we had to do on our land. Our’s is knock-down rebuild and our property is very old. Survey was done fairly quickly, but still the process and paper work to move into construction took so long. I am not happy with their customer service. They had made errors in our quote too like a few of them have mentioned in their earlier posts. Especially when you upgrade something they get it all wrong, we need to be careful, have to go through it thoroughly. Anyway all that is sorted out now, we have moved into construction. Hoping the people I am going to deal with construction will be reasonable and cooperative unlike their customer service staff. Never liked Chris, did anyone else have issues with Chris? No work yet on our property but noticed pegs and that’s it. It is more than 20 days and we are still waiting. Re: Any experiences with Firstyle homes 73Feb 17, 2011 3:48 pm Hi everyone, am looking at building with Firstyle @ Spring Farm..... what should I be looking out for?? Re: Any experiences with Firstyle homes 75Feb 28, 2011 1:09 pm Hi springfarm dave, That's quite open ended question. Are you worried about anything particular? Otherwise like any other contract, just double check everything. find all the costs in front (or as much as you can) and you will be fine. Their customer service is good as they try to explain everything. Harlock - I think I got one double power point in each room. WC ...... Re: Any experiences with Firstyle homes 77Mar 21, 2011 8:10 am Hi All, We are thinking of defecting to Firstyle Homes from another builder. For my piece of mind, can those who have their build already commenced comment on Firstlyes quality? Did you do building inspections by Howard Ryan? How did that go? We were up to tender signing stage with another builder until we got word of Firstlye. We put our dep in to get a tender done... but haven't had much exposure to Firstlye homes so hoping someone can help us out. Thanks so much in advance. Re: Any experiences with Firstyle homes 79Apr 18, 2011 8:11 pm Fellow Firstylers, Has anyone selected a wood-grain look laminex for either their kitchen or bathroom vanities? I picked Formica Idyllic for the bathroom vanities and it cost $450+gst as an upgrade - I was under the impression that if they sent me a colour chart with formica/laminex colours then every colour was fair game. Anyone else get charged an upgrade for this option? normette Building a Firstyle, Oran 30 aka THE BIG 'O' Re: Any experiences with Firstyle homes 80Apr 22, 2011 6:05 am Hi all, I have the house plans are back all looks good, one thing I still worry about do I need a rain tank at Oran Park or not if anyone is building there i was told I don't could anyone just say yes or no please.
