Very similar to our design (quite classic with some modern touches). The lounge, dining kitchen area with the raked ceilings will look stunning! Great pantry too! The only thing (IMHO) that i would change (keeping in mind I have 2 young boys!) is to enter from the carport via the laundry so it doubles as a 'mud room' (somewhere to store schoolbags, cricket gear etc). So in your plan, to suit my needs, I would swap the study and laundry. I also like to have my laundry close to my kitchen as I feel I spend an awful lot of time in there. Having said that, it is nice to have the study closer to the entry and nearer the social hub of the home. It really depends on your own unique situation and how you intend to use your home and only you know that! Was there something more specific you wanted feedback on? We had 3 or 4 preliminary plans done with minor alterations each time. any one of them would have worked, it's just about getting the best you can for your needs and to suit your block. Look forward to seeing the progress! Re: we have our plans yippee 6Jun 15, 2010 8:15 am does the powder room have a door from the hall? (cavity slider) or is the only way to access a loo is via a bedroom (master / or a kids rooms?) I couldnt tell on the plan...had arrows but wasnt sure what that meant. Re: we have our plans yippee 7Jun 15, 2010 8:04 pm yes the powder room has cavity sliders from the hallway i think they are a great idea to save you space, thats one of the advantages of having a framed house. the idea came from brady bunch shows bathroom between the rooms Re: we have our plans yippee 8Jun 15, 2010 8:59 pm true! the boys and girls had it ay... the kids will love having their 'own' bathroom..nice! 6 7974 Really tight at the top of the stairs- how to get furniture into those rooms? Study books - does anyone really use them these days? Large storage closet would be more functional. 2 4666 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 7222 |
