The views are going to be spectacular! We treat our site a bit like a pet sometimes. Wow, that's fabulous, T, great idea to have dinner there!! I agree with jodge, you treat it like your baby, you love it so much! Re: SunshineT's Dollshouse: frames going up, up, up ... 1223Mar 18, 2012 12:49 pm Re: SunshineT's Dollshouse: frames going up, up, up ... 1224Mar 19, 2012 7:31 pm No work on site today either... (So in a week's glorious weather we only had 3 days work). The extra frame material was delivered on Thursday so no idea why. Then I got a call from the new SS, Matt. Great guy. He turned up to the site this morning at 6.30am and also wondered why no work. Apparently the carpenters thought there wasn't enough to do so they had moved to another job. But our job isn't finished and there are frames on site waiting to be installed! Windows were supposed to be delivered last week, but another mix up and the window company prepared a Kellyville job first (maybe Lot 13?) when ours was meant to be last week. So now it turns out windows being delivered Thurs or Fri. Not sure how that works with the brickies, who are meant to start Wed. Matt (SS) said brickies can still start on the garage and DEB etc. even if windows not installed. I am just praying the windows are correct, including semi-commercial as per our tender, so no more delays there. It's all getting a bit logisitcally challenging it seems, timing the workers with materials. One good thing, the door was delivered today (DH came home early to help get it off the truck). It is still wrapped up though, and with all this rain we don't want to open it up. Still don't know why we were asked to deliver it so early? Anyway, supposed to be work on site tomorrow and DH is coming home early (again), to meet the gas fireplace guys (Impressions, Castle Hill) to work out exact dimensions for the double sided gas fireplace. So hopefully we get some movement tomorrow. As for windows, I did see some windows in Lot 13's house today although she still doesnt have her roof trusses up. Have your bricks been delivered? Are you buying your fireplace though the boys?? Or did you buy yourself? Re: SunshineT's Dollshouse: frames going up, up, up ... 1226Mar 19, 2012 7:54 pm gogo - the mix up must have been with Lot 13 then. We had our roof trusses up Thursday last week, which is why Andrew was told and was expecting the windows last Friday. Thanks, yeah, hopefully they can at least start some of the bricking... No bricks delivered yet (but I didn't go past this arvo, didn't have the heart). Fireplace - we want to get it from Impressions. Andrew said he knows the owner. Did you buy it via the boys (and paid via them) or from Impressions but with a tradies discount? When we went up to order, the owner was asking Tim questions about gas pipes etc and ended up taking off a few more dollars and gave us trade price::lol:: This was before Andrew knew that he knew the owners. Andrew had asked us where we bought our fireplace because he wanted a contact, so he went up there and realised he went to school with the owner Re: SunshineT's Build: frames going up, up, up ... 1228Mar 19, 2012 8:52 pm [quote="SunshineT"]For anyone who didn't believe it, here is the wiggle wiggle wiggle dance. Edit. . . not that blondes are dumb. . . ermmm. . . oops! Edit again. . . I don't even tell blonde jokes. . . I don't even LAUGH at blonde jokes! I tried having blonde foils in my hair a few months ago and they went frizzy. . . I am in AWE of blonde people! Re: SunshineT's Dollshouse: frames going up, up, up ... 1235Mar 19, 2012 9:17 pm Hey T. . . you know what, I just remembered that our frames and bricking were a nightmare too. Our windows sat on the dirt for two weeks before they were ready to put them in. Everything seemed to get a lot smoother once the bricking was finished. . . Seriously thinking about becoming a GOOD brickie!!! Re: SunshineT's Dollshouse: frames going up, up, up ... 1236Mar 19, 2012 9:22 pm Yep agree with you Jodge, our frame took three weeks,(due to weather) windows went in quickly but there were 7 windows incorrect and therefore remade, and then we had brickies..... Hoping for a smooth ride from now! Re: SunshineT's Dollshouse: frames going up, up, up ... 1237Mar 19, 2012 9:27 pm Actually. . . I l!ed. . . just checked our blog, our framing only took 2 days. . . now I remember. .. young men rushing around like the house was on fire with no shirts in the blazing sun . . . how could I forget? Our builder forgot that our house was split level, and that they'd need to brick the garage downstairs before putting the frame up upstairs. . . THAT'S what took so long.
