The frames are going up as we speak!!! eek!! I have dashed home to get the camera (but had to share the excitement on here first, of course). And this time 4 real hotties (they leave nothing on the concreter guys) - 4 young lads in their 20s, with their shirts off and music on (I was just waiting for "I work out... wiggle wiggle wiggle.." to come on!!) . Great news, T!! Oh come on, T, let us see the 6 packs!! Woohoo, hope this sunshine will be like today for the next 6 months!! Re: SunshineT's Build: frames going up, up, up ... 1148Mar 09, 2012 7:23 pm Oh T don't be so mean, I've got to wait more than a week to see my roof and now have to wait to see your frames too, that's just unfair!! come on! See you on Sunday. And I kid you not - when I returned to the site on Friday arvo guess what song was blaring across the street? Yep... "I work out... wiggle, wiggle you know the rest!". I laughed out loud and of course thought of dear H1. I told DH how spunky the carpenters were and can you believe it, he told them I said that this morning!! Now I am far too embarrassed to return to the site. They are moving at a cracking pace and working all today too. I offered to get them some beers yesterday but they declined. When I offered soft drinks they were enthusiastic. I thought it was cute 'coz of their age, but Andrew reckons it's a tradies thing. Brickies and concreters drink beer. Carpenters think they are more up market and only drink whiskey / bourbon mixed with soft drink etc. Anyway, I decided coke was too soft (after our last debacle with the slab!) so I got Red Bulls. That went down well. So I can't wait to show some of you tomorrow!!! Also have a few decisions to make (including about doors in to TV room upstairs), landscaping and window heights. I freaked a little when all, and I mean ALL, the windows were lower than the plans. Particularly annoying when we specifically drew them higher in the plans (for things like desks under some, or for privacy in the bathroom). But Andrew explained that they are just temporary positions and he expected us to come out and make changes / direct what height we wanted them anyway!! I guess that is good (as we got a few of the heights wrong on the plans anyway), but that does mean a day off work on Wed (for DH) to be there for all the window instals. Still, I think it is good in the end because we can make some small changes (like flipping the opening to the living room slider etc.). Dee - there is certainly plenty of mud on site for wrestling Photos ... well, I actually have been too embarrassed now to take photos of the boys. But I will post frame pics. First storey is pretty much done, and the plan is that the second storey and roof will be finished on Tuesday. But I am going to give first peeks to the tour tomorrow (sorry nina!). I won't be able to make it today. Over the last two weeks I have been painting and weeding and packing up my house. Yesterday I hurt my back and I can hardly get around at the moment let alone sit in a car for an hour and a half each way. I am sooo upset. I have so much I need to do before I put my house on the market before the end of March, and I have to work tomorrow. It will have to be Melbourne where I meet the girls. Have a great day together. DRG Kay. Re: SunshineT's Build: frames going up, up, up ... 1155Mar 12, 2012 3:25 pm ^^^ DRG- you were missed. Melbourne it is then! T-I love what you are doing with your house..making the most of your site, embracing the way your family lives and maximising those verdant views! Well done you! Sorry about the short visit, another time! Planning to drag DH to Sydney for a few days at some time in the next 12 months, so hopefully you will be in and we can drop by!
