Hey T, as much as we looove our fireplace, we would never build without aircon, you would never be able to sell a house without it out here, regardless of how cool in summer and warm in winter it is.

I was wondering how your back area would go in winter as it faces South, but with the fire-place right there sounds like it has worked out perfectly. Do you regret getting the air-con? Hey T, as much as we looove our fireplace, we would never build without aircon, you would never be able to sell a house without it out here, regardless of how cool in summer and warm in winter it is. Re: SunshineT's Build: good progress 4402Sep 04, 2013 8:41 pm HELLO T!!! I too pop in occasionally, always mean to write but get started and something else comes up. Glad to hear the leak is sorted and nice to get the touch ups etc done. COngrats on the plants - I'd love to get some tips!!! Hows your grass? OUrs is looking really quite bad after winter - very brown throughout and bare mud on the slope. Will write more in my thread though. Would it be worth you getting some outdoor blinds for your alfresco? Although you'd have to put them on the north side wouldn't you, which would defeat the object of having your alfresco if you blocked that fantastic view. But perhaps you could get something like our awning which just came down at more of an angle to give you addes protection - that might be an idea? Where is your craft area that you want shelves etc for? I'm still determined to attempt an ikea hack.....it's just down the list of priorities, but coming up slowly. I too gave it some fertiliser last weekend and a lot of water. Does your grass get much loght in winter? Ours is quite shaded due to the sun not getting high enough over the trees on the bank on the other side - so I wondered if that had something to do with it (although I'm sure the lack of rain and my watering is a lot to do with it). How are you going otherwise? Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43846 Re: SunshineT's Build: good progress 4405Sep 04, 2013 9:54 pm Hello ladies!!!! Long time no see Nina xxx Grass talk. ... Our palmetto buffalo is all north facing (only a little shade from western jacaranda in the arvos) but ours has recently gone yellow on top in big patches. So i dont think it is just the sun Nina. DH has started watering our grass again and trimmed it on the weekend. must ask him about lawn food. Look forward to your update Nina. DH laying bricks for the pergola pillars & paving done & got out door furniture, lovely to sit out in this weather we are having. Re: SunshineT's Build: good progress 4407Sep 07, 2013 1:25 pm It's a bit late - but happy 12 months for last weekend T. Glad to hear all is going well. Quite jealous of all you with dead grass as I have a boggy muddy swamp but at least it isn't close to the house, but out in the middle of the block. Re: SunshineT's Build: Garden pics 4408Sep 14, 2013 11:23 am I have been meaning to post photos for ages, but yesterday's exciting event has given me the impetus. Council came yesterday and planted a lovely banksia tree out the front! Only other posters on here would understand how exciting it is to have a tree planted! I have been talking to Council about it for months, as well as trying to convince our difficult neighbour, and finally it happened. DH is refusing to help me, so I will try again later when I have more patience... GF - thank you!!! And congratulations to you too for your 12 month (belated) anniversary!!! I think I took the photos with the camera the wrong way round (maybe?) like I said - having a blonde day - so maybe I just need to go take more photos. Which means I will probably never post them again. Or maybe I will just post the other two pics upside and people can stand on their heads to look at them A lot of stuff happening at the moment, and posting the photos was meant to cheer me up! Dee - you can see the grass. You were right to suggest we don't do artificial grass here. I am loving my lavendar hedge along here too. OK, now I feel cheered up and better about being on H1. Long time no see kiwi So were the photos the right way around for you? When I looked at the forum from my phone they were the right way up, but when I had a look just now on my computer 2 of the 3 were upside down. Jodge - did you see the fern at the front door? I thought of you when I took the photo.
