Browse Forums Building A New House Re: SunshineT's Build: front door going on! 2562Jul 07, 2012 7:42 pm Luckily we aren't waiting on doors. Did a thorough check this arvo, and all the doors are there (esp. as we will accept the Milan sliders now), there are just extras. And they need to add hinges to 6 of them. oh well. See what next week brings... We were expecting to be in by August, but not at this rate. Going overseas in September for DH's sister's wedding, so absolutely hope we are in by then! Seems a rather haphazard or sloppy way to operate, leaving lots of extras around on different sites..Too easy to lose track of them I should think? What a great time to get your keys, end of winter or spring is perfect for planting and landscaping...!!! Re: SunshineT's Build: front door going on! 2564Jul 08, 2012 9:08 am Treeseachanger What a great time to get your keys, end of winter or spring is perfect for planting and landscaping...!!! oh dear... as much as I love green and a garden, DH and I (especially me) are not green thumbs. I can imagine we will be busy moving in (hopefully) then going to DH's sister's wedding, so we might miss the perfect planting season. Will be looking for a good landscaper though (budget permitting) plus my mum is an amazing gardener. Maybe I should commission Dee to come lend a hand?! Knowing what a garden wizz she is. I saw a thread last night about dark roof and garage door and asking for pics. No-one else had posted, so I posted a pic of our garage and roof. Then this nob AC27 comes in with a rude comment. Here is the thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=57875&p=891101#p891101 I mean, what is the point of bagging other peoples' photos, especially if you have nothing to add yourself? People just being rude. The first time someone made a comment sting why on earth would people pay $500000 for a block of land in kellyville, and then last month I was called self absorbed and needy because I recommended a good size bedroom is 3.5x3.5. Really unnecessary, I think everyone appreciates opinions but there is a nice way of writing things, Re: SunshineT's Build: front door going on! 2567Jul 08, 2012 10:54 am Wow, people really are rude! There was no need for AC27 to say that, T, it was really unnecessary. And gogo, the size of someone's room is none of anyone else's business. I read that thread and I was horrified at how rude some people were. Strange attitude regarding the doors T, as per the off topic thing, I think some people just join forums to stir up things. I also saw yours gogo, I tried to get that topic back on track by ignoring all that rubbish but it didn't work. I should have done what others did later which was to say respect everyones opinion ,there is no right or wrong when it comes to what you like. T -any news on that door yet??? We went yesterday chose all our tiles but I never thought to ask for samples, so of course, now I am worried about choosing paint without my main floor tile. Not sure if he had samples anyway. Re: SunshineT's Build: waiting for front door ... 2575Jul 10, 2012 10:54 am Ryan 1977 Hi T, I was wondering if you got samples of your tiles from Danny? We went yesterday chose all our tiles but I never thought to ask for samples, so of course, now I am worried about choosing paint without my main floor tile. Not sure if he had samples anyway. We didn't get any samples. Wished we had, but DH didn't think he had any anyway as a small outlet. Taking photos would be the best next bet. Meanwhile... staircase guys came to measure etc. But the real dilemma - the guy from Bath Cartel didn't ring us back about the Timberline basins we wanted. So I just called now and sure enough, it is difficult to get, they haven't got an account and the best they can get it for is $350. Rang Harvey Norman (who also supply Timberline products) and they can get it for $380. Maybe it is worth upgrading? For that price I should probably have a look at stone ones too... oh the joys! Might see if I can get a sample of the same tile from another (closer tile outlet) Or take paint brochures in. We also had the stair guy out to measure up & insulation guy, both came while we were on site with electrician & Andrew. Hopefully our gutter gaurd installed, eaves painted, bricks cleaned & scaffold down this week but I see rain forecast so not too hopeful. Hope to make bathroom selections this weekend but no one mentioned Bath Cartel, I think we are just going to Zen at Glendenning. Good luck with your basins, I am hoping I will just like what is standard but I do like those oval sit on top type basins, DH doesn't, or says he doesn't because he knows they will be extra $$ Re: SunshineT's Build: waiting for front door ... 2577Jul 10, 2012 11:40 am Ryan - yeah, they will be extra. Just spoke to Mat and we are trying to source something cheaper. As for selections, I spoke with them this morning and they have a new girl, Danielle (Andrew's sister) starting who will take care of selections so people know what is standard. Good idea I think. A bit late for us, all a bit messy with our selections (and time consuming going from shop to shop). Just checked out the Stylus Cerina basin that gogo found for me. Strangely, on the Reno boys website it looks oval, but on the Cerina website it looks round. Just rang Cerina and sure enough it is a perfect circle, so will still have a look around for oval shaped ones.... The only other tile we had was the white 300x600 so didn't really need that. Ryan, were you happy with the selections offered?? Bath cartel is at castle hill Re: SunshineT's Build: waiting for front door ... 2580Jul 10, 2012 11:56 am OMG!! OMG!! OMG!!! you won't believe what I just found on the internet. This AWESOME bathroom wholesaler (in Qld) with great stuff. They have a gorgeous looking oval vanity basin. Take a look: http://www.youngstrading.com.au/product ... l-215.aspx I was dreading the price, then she said "for retail it is $46 but your builder with an ABN could get it much much cheaper". And I was like, "sorry, did you say $46? 4. 6. Not 460?". And yep, sure enough!!! Happy happy little sunshine I am. So am going to send this off to Zen straight away... !!!!! Yippeee!!!!
