Except I'm not meant to drive yet....perhaps leave it for a week or so. Pls post piccies tomorrow to keep me going in the meantime! Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43846 Re: SunshineT's Build: stairs going up up up 2823Jul 26, 2012 8:30 pm Thanks willcres Nina - yes! Stairs! When I saw them go in I thought of all the people who wanted to come and have a look and who couldn't without stairs (including you, MIL and friend from work who I have mentioned a few times, the one who has been helping with colour selections etc.). You are welcome any time. Tomorrow I will try to post pics of stairs, tiling in bathrooms (including the 'crazy' granite and feature niche solution), tiling in living room, most windows in and the partial kitchen (which was installed nearly 2 weeks ago and I was waiting for it to be completed before posting pics, but now I will go ahead and take pics anyway). Here it is: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Not sure if you can see the gap above the cupboards. Not supposed to be there, so will be filled. Otherwise very happy. After reading Dee's post, we also told the cabinet guy today to put our join in the middle of stone slab (rather than next to the sink) to avoid cracking / future problems. Thanks Dee! And I LOVE the window - looks like a framed picture! Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43846 Re: SunshineT's Build: partial kitchen pic 2828Jul 26, 2012 8:56 pm Did you go gloss cupboards? Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43846 Re: SunshineT's Build: partial kitchen pic 2829Jul 26, 2012 9:06 pm Thanks nina! Yeah, we love the window too. And yep, white on white gloss. Ryan - our kitchen is 2400 high (so we have a bulkhead that drops from the raked ceiling down). Unfortunately it turns out the ceiling was not straight, which is why the gap appeared. But it will be filled apparently. Benches are 950mm high (which will reduce in height once the Spotted Gum timber floors go in... The timber flooring is only 18mm, so we will end up around 930mm high which DH is particularly happy about!). The kitchen turned out 99% as per plans we gave. The only variance was a drawer set that we expected to be 600mm wide (for cutlery etc) turned up as 900mm wide (so we will get one of those cutlery dividers). But it actually looks more balanced and makes the corner cupboard doors smaller (it is one of those hinged doors), so although not as per plans is actually better than what we had designed. In regards to kitchen finishing off, don't think it will happen soon I'm still waiting, apparently tomorrow but have been told that for the last six weeks although it probably saves any damage, the longer it takes. Can't wait to see your stairs, look forward to photos Re: SunshineT's Build: partial kitchen pic 2832Jul 26, 2012 9:31 pm Hey gogo. Yeah, totally hear you on the finishing potentially being protracted. Mat was saying he wanted Jack to remove all the cupboards and re-fix them higher. But knowing the delays we thought - why bother? that will just take forever and a waste of time, we are happy just for gap filler. I do agree that some of things happening right at the end does mean less damage. That is the only good things about our windows coming so late! I had thought it would mean the windows wouldn't get as dirty either, but nup some of them were filthy before they even got to site! Stair pics tomorrow - but not that exciting (no balustrade, just the stairs...). Hey gogo - I was thinking of popping out to see your place either Friday or weekend. Would that be OK? Great kitchen T! hello long lost friend!!! You won't believe this, but I was thinking of you yesterday when the window guy put on the handles for the sliders - black ones. And I remember seeing this on your thread, so I expected it and wasn't disappointed that it wasn't matching Woodlands Grey. Oh and Barb, on the wall paint we decided to go Snowy Mountains (not Oak Buff like you have, but I was thinking about it for a bit... just too dark for us I think). Thanks for popping in!
