Door looking great too, I don't think it matters that it doesn't match the garage (but I did vote the other garage colour if you remember ). It is still such a feature in itself. Rubbish pile looking great too I should have taken a pic for you today of our overloaded skip - the truck can't get in to get it, not really understanding why, our block is the driest it's been for about 6 months. Makes me sad, everyone has something named after them in your build - and I get the mess! Re: SunshineT's Build: front door really on this time 2754Jul 20, 2012 8:18 pm What a lovely solid door I can see now what you mean about there being plenty of light in the entry still, it looks really sunny in there. I can't wait to see the tiles up, they look gorgeous. https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43937&start=0 Bought a block in Golden Grove - Jan 2011 Finally finished our design, Mar 2012, *yay* Signed with ADH council consent June 12 Re: SunshineT's Build: front door really on this time 2755Jul 20, 2012 8:20 pm Door looks gorgeous T and I actually like that it is different to the garage door, makes it look far more natural. For info on our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43093 Built the McLaren by Dechellis - slab down 22 Feb - handover 30 Aug 2011 - and gardens finished 9 Dec 2012!! Re: SunshineT's Build: front door really on this time 2757Jul 20, 2012 8:33 pm Thanks Annette, nina, dreamcometrue, greenfish and SC! I was talking to DH tonight about the colour (as he had chosen a lighter more yellow garage door colour to try to match the front door). I decided that if you try and match but not exact it can look worse. Also the front door has not been finished yet (haven't decided whether to lacquer or just DW40), plus we will have a screen in front of it again (which I had forgotten about, so less visible from street, which is good for the non-matching to the garage door and people will still see it when they come to the front door), so it means the colour is not so important. We still love it anyway. GF - that mess was to show you not name it after you... I am sure I can think up something to name after you... The colours in your door look fantastic. It certainly is a gorgeous door!! Well Done. Re: SunshineT's Build: front door really on this time 2759Jul 20, 2012 10:33 pm Agree with you T, I don't think you need to match it, you have the bricks that contrast the two timbers, they both work well with the bricks so it seems to work, I think if you tried to match it wouldn't work Door looks good, you must be happy Re: SunshineT's Build: front door really on this time 2760Jul 20, 2012 11:44 pm Wow T!!!! She's a beauty! Looks especially nice, accentuated by the pile of crap. Are you kidding with the WD40? Did the door man suggest that? Wow! I never would've believed it. Personally I think I'd oil it rather than applying a varnish, as I think it'll look more natural. . . but then I wonder how it will stand up to the kiddies and their felt-tipped pens. I personally have some laminate office furniture in my study which has been drawn all over by an errant 5-year-old. . . came off a treat with a bit of nail polish remover. . .beauty!
